That's 12 goals scored and 55 allowed in 11 games for the Sharks.

Some great golf scores though:

They have to be in contention for the worst team ever, right? For sure they're the worst in the 21st century

Even those 1999-2000 expansion teams showed some signs of life at times.

Leafs out of playoffs after 11 games - the season just started.

Sharks last after 11 games - the worst team ever !

They are trending in the right direction, but it's still 70 games to go.

"It’s fascinating from a Toronto perspective. According to Pagé, an offer for Lindros from the Maple Leafs included Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark, Félix Potvin, Dave Ellett, Ken Baumgartner, Darby Hendrickson, and $15 million — only Toronto’s best player, team captain, No. 1 goaltender, top defencemen, and extras. In return, Pagé says, the Leafs would have received Lindros, the fourth overall pick in the 1992 draft, goaltenders John Tanner and Stéphane Fiset, and winger Andrei Kovalenko.

Pagé tells MacLean that the potential deal was scuttled after Cliff Fletcher, the Maple Leafs GM at the time, got cold feet.

“Cliff had offered so much, all of a sudden he started to sweat and he said, ‘Pierre, there is no way I can do this. I’m nervous. This is too much,’” Pagé is quoted as saying in the book."

The Sharks season really is a glaring example as to why the whole tanking system sucks. Cheering for your team to lose is an awful process and the "team" the Sharks front office has put together to ensure the tank is a joke
Honestly reminds me of our 2015-16 roster (Parenteau, Grabner, Holland, Boyes, Winnik, Spaling, Froese, Matthias, Greening, Arcobello), but somehow with even worse D (seriously San Jose's D is... impressively inexperienced and everyone is playing above their station)

It was the fist of the series of questionable decisions Leafs made after drafting Matthews.

If anything by now it should be clear Dubas failed RFA negotiations, you can bitch about Lou overpaying UFA but he never overpaid for RFA with close to no options.

It's also clear this super soft friendly approach with back then young kids was detrimental to their testicular growth . The same with Mike being swapped for Keefe.

We started way too old school Lou and overcompensated with Dubas in a big way.

You have the benefit of hindsight now, time to admit Dubas was a failure and letting Lou go was the first step to mediocracy.

Kyle managed to downgrade our roster - compared to where we started and we only had to pay all the picks we had in the last 7 years .

Side note, sh*ting on Lou is just a way to distract us from Dubas rookie mistakes.
Why can’t people see or accept that both made a lot of mistakes here?
The Marleau and Zaitsev contracts were brutally bad and both cost good assets to clean up. His draft picks outside the first round were also poor leaving it difficult to fill holes with ELC players. He also failed to address a weak Dcore.

Dubas laid out a poor cap structure, overpaid RFA’s and waisted way too many futures on rentals and short term fixes.

Both guys failed here but some people hate Dubas so much they gloss over the problems Lou left.

Seems like they’ve filtered through enough coaches to at least become suspicious that just maybe the players are the issue.
The next coach will be what, 4th, 5th or maybe even 6th coach they’ve tried since McDavid laced them up.

Team construction and cap management have been an issue for a while now. Holland is 4.5 years in and he still hasn't fixed the D and G while handcuffing himself with awful contracts (Nurse, Campbell). His job should be on the line

I think this is Hollands last year so that may bring hope. Agreed about Nurse and Campbell, even Brown if he gets into 1 more game this season adds 3 million more to next seasons cap hit. That was an awful signing.
