Watching the Sens game and tkachuk scores to get them within 1. They’ve had a horrible night but they’re still having fun out there.
I wonder what the problem is?

Funny thing is I don’t think he comes close to this position as a Leaf

His role with the Oilers and having McDavid create opportunities for him is unparalleled

I thought he was given every opportunity to shine here. He played majority top two lines and mostly with Matthews

Sometimes that's how it is with players. They need a change of scenery

Boston does not look good. Bad decisions from everyone, and I don't think they even have a shot on net this period.

Watching the Sens destroy their draft position every year with these pointless late season wins is always enjoyable. Caps spoiled the fun tonight.

The Oilers might luck into playing a weak LA Kings team in the playoffs again.

It’s the only team they can beat. The LA Kings haven’t won a round in a decade but no one talks about that.

I wish we got to play the Kings in the first round every year.

You over-rate the blueline…. And even if you’re right, it doesn’t matter. Having an elite goalie makes them more balanced and better built…. But you’re not right - they had elite defensemen too.
I rate the blueline properly. Both teams had high-end forwards and defensemen and got high-end offensive and defensive results. The difference, as I said from the start, was one team walked into a high-end goalie. That goalie of a generation carried them to two cups, but that wasn't really the build choice you tried to represent it as. And with cap circumvention, they didn't even really have to allocate cap for it.

You absolutely do not rate the blueline properly. We had zero elite defenders.

Getting one point per game won't be enough to keep them in first place.
If they averaged a PPG the rest of the way, they would end up with 104 points.

But they won't. Even with this extended stretch of play, they are still averaging well over a PPG.

They will end up with 110 points or more.

For Toronto to match that, they would need 36 points out of the next 25. Which isn't all that hard to believe.

I know everyone loves to laugh at me about it, and have at it, but I think it's a foregone conclusion that the Leafs (and the Panthers) will pass the Bruins. The bigger question for me is whether the Leafs can pass the Panthers, but that will take some real work. I think the most realistic outcome is a Toronto/Boston first round, with the Leafs having home ice advantage. I'll take it, but I sure would rather the Leafs play Tampa or Detroit in the first round with home ice.

I mentioned earlier that I wonder if Boston would have the balls, or the availability of a suitable return, to move Ullmark at the deadline as opposed to the off-season. Swayman's new deal presumably prohibits the Bruins from keeping both, and they could get a pretty serious return for Ullmark. I'm not sure it's realistically a deadline move given the limited number of teams that could pay the price for Ullmark, but it certainly will be a way for the Bruins to strengthen other parts of their team in the summer.

Have the Broons turned into a pumpkin?
I believe the correct term is "Anti-Wagon".
