I know everyone loves to laugh at me about it, and have at it, but I think it's a foregone conclusion that the Leafs (and the Panthers) will pass the Bruins. The bigger question for me is whether the Leafs can pass the Panthers, but that will take some real work. I think the most realistic outcome is a Toronto/Boston first round, with the Leafs having home ice advantage. I'll take it, but I sure would rather the Leafs play Tampa or Detroit in the first round with home ice.

I mentioned earlier that I wonder if Boston would have the balls, or the availability of a suitable return, to move Ullmark at the deadline as opposed to the off-season. Swayman's new deal presumably prohibits the Bruins from keeping both, and they could get a pretty serious return for Ullmark. I'm not sure it's realistically a deadline move given the limited number of teams that could pay the price for Ullmark, but it certainly will be a way for the Bruins to strengthen other parts of their team in the summer.

I believe the correct term is "Anti-Wagon".
Bruins will no doubt go on a tear now that you’ve written them off, your batting average on these predictions is laughable, but we all love a good laugh

My prediction on the Bruins has been pretty much spot on, save for a two week span in January.

Most of your predictions are heavily biased to favor the Leafs in all outcomes imo…..
Only where warranted. I am also hyper-critical of the idea of having Domi centre a third line in the playoffs or keeping the Nylander/Bertuzzi/Domi line together in the playoffs.

Honestly, don't care too much if we catch Boston. Don't care too much if we are a wildcard. Winning is fun... I mean I hope they win every game... I wish they would win the President's Trophy too... but I don't care if they don't. I just want them to go somewhere in the playoffs... that's what matters.

If they could ever win, my new goal would be a wire to wire President's trophy, followed by a 16-0 playoff win!

Pretty much my view as well. I rarely care about others' state of affairs and just want us to be competitive even in a losing game, the rest will follow and get us the win. Ideally to the cup.

The only place Tampa has been "steps ahead" of the Leafs is their #1 goalie. And the Leafs have still been the better team for years.
There are no "certainties" with the NHL playoffs, no matter who you think is better than who.

What years?
2 years ago Toronto I thought outplayed Tampa and deserved the series.
Last year Tampa was at least even probably better.
1-1 series.

Before that Tampa won back to back cups. Can’t actually think Toronto was better that year.

At least Tampa lost tonight. Detroit is playing really well too. Atlantic is pretty top heavy.

Only in the NHL could a team have 6 games in hand on another team with less than a quarter of the season left to play (and 5 games in hand on the Flyers). If Pittsburgh can win even half of their games in hand, they will be breathing down Tampa's neck.

Watching the Pens Vs Nucks game. Sid is the only one skating and creating anything for the Pens. EK is horrible, like absolutely horrible.
If anything, won’t happen but if Leafs can get Sid at 50% retention for the next 2 playoffs. It is worth it bc he wants to win and he is really doing everything he can to win.

Detroit has some Vancouver in them with the crazy shooting percentages, except they don't play as well 5 on 5. I think they'll crash back down to earth, but with those bubble metro teams not wanting to make the playoffs, they're basically in already.

Detroit has been one of the best teams since Jan 1st. They are top 5 in scoring in NHL. And have 13 players with 10 or more goals. They are deep, similar to Seattle last year.

I don’t see them collapsing.
