It honestly blows my mind that he's in the Final anyway. All he had to do was not blow it. Then you see his attitude and mannerisms towards Benn when confidently making the wrong call and it's like...how.
 
I thought Benn was getting a holding call since he had his arm draped over Johnson, and given Dallas had a PP in OT, felt like the next close call was going to be an even up one, and sure enough...

The Stars blew a two-goal lead and had some opportunities to even up the series, but alas, this looks to finally be Tampa Bay's year, and to no fault of their own, people will say they didn't deserve to win it.

There could've been several calls there. Johnson with interference when his stick went parrallel to the ice holding Benn up. Benn for holding. Johnson for for doing the looney tunes leg kick then fall. Certainly there wasn't a kicking out of the legs like Charon indicted.

I actually agree, I don't hate Pavelski nearly as much as I hate Perry. He was essentially their Dustin Brown, plays like everything is on the line, and does anything and everything for his team, always willing to make any sacrifice. Easy traits to admire. But he was a Shark so f*** him... :P

It's a real good point that they shouldn't have been in that position in the first place. Came close a few times but TBL is looking like they have the little extra magic this go round. I'll put an asterisk next to them just because f*** them, but always have to respect the champs. NHL has done a real good job in recent times of preserving the integrity of the Stanley Cup even when seasons get truncated for reasons.

yeah i'm not gonna give benn a total pass cause he tried to kick through.. i think at worst he kneed johnson's hamstring and what do you know, johnson hits the kucherov yard sale and gets the call

it's one of those plays that either needs to be let go or needs to be called as coincidental penalties, especially in OT in a cup final game..
 
Refs want to wrap this shit up and get out of the bubble as much as anyone. Handing out penalties in OT before a back to back game is no surprise. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see Dallas gifted some make up calls tonight.
