I do enjoy the passive aggressive nature of the PHWA outing voters who screwed up their ballots. I assume this stems from that season when Adam Oates made Alex Ovechkin play RW and the voters were reminded not to vote for Ovechkin at his customary LW, but then a bunch of voters did anyways.

Sharks officially name Boughner their head coach. I refuse to be mature about this.

Rocky Thompson as an assistant as well.

If there was a 5 v. 5 line brawl and you had to choose a team made up of current NHL players and the other made up of coaches and assistant coaches, I might take the coaching side.

Top of my head I've got Berube, Tocchet, Boughner, Rocky and Lappy.

Figures Brooks was one of the dumbasses who voted Hughes in 3rd place.

gotta love the revisionist history in that thread on the main board about dallas's run

everyones like "oh yeah everyone knew the kings were the best team going into those playoffs" re: 2012... foh

like everyone didn't have vancouver penciled in and now, after all those years of "sYsTeM gOaLiE".. ok

^^ That seems a bit too revisionist, I agree. I think I recall watching something on ESPN (it's ESPN though, take it with not too high credibility) a few days after Kings clinched against the Canucks on how they thought that series win means nothing or something along the lines and wouldn't shake things up of how things were in the league at the time. My expectations in that series was at least win a series or force a Game 7. Don't get busted in 6 games in the first round, three years in a row.

I will say that things got easier for the Kings in that run once the powerhouse teams at the time like Canucks, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Sharks were out in the 1st round. Also, helps on the East side that Bruins and Penguins didn't make the first round.

But St. Louis clowned the Sharks so hard that they were the "Can anyone beat x" team. After that sweep, I think everyone was pretty much on board with the Kings rolling.

I look forward for when the Kings call up Tyler Madden to play against the Sharks and his dad.

I dunno, they look like a bunch of losers to me. :)

There were a very small handful of people who actually paid attention to post-deadline stats and score adjusted fenwick that predicted the Kings beating the Canucks. But that was a VERY small handful.

After they demolished the Canucks, a lot of analysts hopped on the bandwagon, as did like the entire city of Boston lol.
