So Krejci gets a 6 year extension worth about 43M.

I think Ryan ends up with a similar cap hit.

Hmm... Boston's going to have a cap problem again next off-season again too... they're going to have about 15M to sign 10 players with if they don't move money this season (and they're still short Rielly and Krug signings for this year)

They have Soderberg, Campbell, Boychuk, McQuaid, Bartkowski and Hamilton all going to be looking for new deals next summer.

Have to think Rielly and Krug take up around 6M combined, so that leaves about 9M for the other players I listed.

Wonder who they'll move. Wouldn't mind dealing for Eriksson if he continues to post less than stellar numbers to start next season, might do better here. Boychuk would be a fantastic UFA pick-up if the Bruins can't afford to re-sign him.

That or they need to hope that the cap jumps without inflating contracts too much. There's still a couple more years of 4M LTIR space with Savard - but even still... they'll be rather restricted in what they can do.

So i just saw the player ratings for the Ottawa Senators in nhl 15 and they look interesting.

Our top three players are :
Karlsson with a overall of 89
Ryan with a overall of 89
Turris with a overall of 87

EA considers them to be elite according to their new rating system.

Just because I want to cringe... what are the top rated D across the league in NHL 15?
edit: found this - http://www.easports.com/nhl/news/2014/nhl-15-player-ratings-top-50-overall

Defense:
Name Rating (Potential)
Weber 93 (Franchise)
Keith 92 (Elite)
Suter 92 (Elite)
Doughty 91 (Elite)
Chara 91 (Elite)
Subban 90 (Elite)
Pietrangelo 90 (Elite)
Karlsson 89 (Elite) -- 2 1/2 stars on Physical ratings
Kronwall 89 (Elite)
McDonagh 89 (Elite)

So that's the top 10 D in the game.

Ceci is elite? Uhhhhh.... bit early there, EA.

That is their new future potential rating system. They are not saying that he is elite right now, they are saying that he has the potential to be an elite player.

Another example is that their potential system lists Lehner as a nhl starter and a player like Driedger as a nhl backup.

Where there new potential system ****s up at is that they list Condra as a potential top 6 forward while Stone is a bottom 6 forward

Turris is an 87 actually. My mistake. Sorry. :(

It also seems like overalls are different in gm mode being that i just saw another video that shows Ryan as a 87 overall.

As it has already been said overall rating in EANHL is silly

I can probably make a player with 80 overall who will be better than Crosby if I wanted to

Some reports out there that Pegula (Sabres owner) was onboard the Glazer plane that crashed in the ocean. Hopefully those reports are incorrect.
