The elbow and the leaving of the feet make me think that it was over the line.

It is also true that the guy getting hit made it worse by pulling away but I always have a hard time using that as justification as to why something was ok.

So what do you guys think about the Leafs?

They have not looked so good in their first two games. Do you think they turn it around or will they just be a bottom dweller this season?

Just like with us it's far too early to say how bad a team will be over the season

Let's just say I didn't think Toronto was going to make the playoffs before this year had begun and I haven't changed my mind

They'll be middle of the pack. If they are bad they will turn it around enough after getting a new coach.

Behind you, look out
Torts was just not the right coach for that team. If he was the coach of a team in the 70's, he would be a legend now. Today players are too soft and emotionally fragile. That's what happens when you are coddled your whole life and told how awesome you are.

I think people underestimate how much Torts is capable of adapting to todays game. Vancouver wasn't the right fit and doomed from the beginning, especially with such a soft team and a core that all had big contracts and NTCs.

At the same time, it really feels like something else was happening in the background lately with Torts. His biggest strength was relating to the players and being the tough but fair guy who would throw himself on a grenade for his guys. I dunno...but it feels, to me, like something in him changed after the hockey world lost Boogaard.

If by adapting, you mean taking advantage of one of the greatest goalies in NHL history, then having 5 guys set up shop in front of him with the most plodding style of hockey since the NJ trap, then yes he adapted.

Dude has a ring.

He also had a line up of Brad Richards, St. Louis and Lecavalier as well as Dan Boyle and Khabibulin all in their primes.

And it still took 7 games to beat an 8th seeded Calgary. Not only that, Calgary got jobbed in Game 6 with a missed goal that would have won them the Cup. I was at that game.

God, the Sportsnet broadcast feels even more Leafs-centric than the CBC's. F-ing Healy and Damien Cox? It's like I blinked and found myself right smack in the middle of Toronto in some bro bar.

Nhl.com is a joke when it comes to following the scores of games. Too many glitches. It just doesn't work properly.

I was going to say...but Leaf fans actually hate those two more than any of us ever could. Which makes you think, which idiot thought those two should be on during the intermission.

I don't mind Strombo as much as Cox and Healy, but it says a lot that with all the money and resources they have, he is the best they could do. Another overrated CBC personality.
