Hmm I think Boston will have a tough time winning this series. They can hardly hit the net or connect passes in the offensive zone. Montreal D has been good for the most part.

They need to engage wrecking ball mode

They seem too worried about turning it over rather than playing their game

If Rask could stop a breakaway, not that they are his fault, it would be nice too

I am now awaiting Habs fans to come to our board and tell us why they deserved to win, because for some reason we care about what they think (????)

Apparently being the self-appointed 'Canada's Team' means they own all of the Canadian teams' boards. Or, at least, that's what it feels like sometimes. It's a shame. They have a couple likable kids on the roster, but their fanbase are such arrogant *****, there's no way any decent human being can root for that team. :shakehead

Remember to report any trolls, folks.

Montreal vs Boston is officially the series I'm now the least interested in. Why? Because it's all and only about Subban...

I'm no Hab fan, but I'm happily watching them win so that all of you swinging off the Boston sac will finally understand that there are many ways to build a winning team and perhaps be a little more patient with our rebuild.

Boston is one of several good teams, and currently are being taught a lesson by a team we ran roughshod over last year.

Perhaps we're not quite as bad, or as far off track as many initially thought.

I think they have been in wrecking ball mode but the Habs are just not getting intimidated and are refusing to get drawn in to the after the whistle stuff.

I don't mind giving MTL some credit here. They may not be as physical as Boston but they're very effective playing their speed game. They're a good team, clearly an effective counter to Boston's style. Seeing Price on his game is great too.

Boston has the puck but Montreal is controlling the flow of the game by effectively boxing out Boston.

I think the Bruins are going to need to be much more physical and smart: right now it sort of seems like they are on auto-pilot for the first 40 minutes, seem surprised to find out things aren't working and then go to town

This is mostly on coaching though: the Bruins are playing right into the Scabs plan.

Time to get to the net and do it hard

Guessing, but you get the same player with a couple more slightly cheaper years. You can use those resources elsewhere in the interim.

Winner winner, chicken dinner. The Daniel Briere and Thomas Vanek acquisitions were made possible by that extra space, as were other minor things like Beaulieu's and Tinordi's cup of coffee this year. Weise and Weaver also have larger cap hits than the players they've replaced, though not by much.

Oh, and Dubnyk, lol.

You know, I'm not more or less a Bruins fan than anyone here but, I sense a lot of butthurt on this thread. I watched this game trying to be as objective as possible and the Habs won it as fair and square.

Give credit where it's due and stop emulating the worse that Montreal has to offer when it comes to fans. They played a hell of a game and deserve this lead whatever happens from this point on. Refs were damn near flawless for once and no goals were controversial. So yeah, don't become the enemy and try to stay relatively objective.

Heh not today. Clearly the plan was to be disciplined and not take penalties but they just totally lost their identity. If they're going to lose this thing they should at least do it on their own terms.

I have to agree. Boston has been playing guilty. After game 2 where they couldn't go within 5 feet of a Hab without going to the box, now they have no clue what to do.

They need to just go back and play their game. To hell with what the refs do. They have a strong team D, they need to get back to it and stop letting the smurfs dictate the flow of the game.

Found this elsewhere... apparently last night was not the first time that Subban's cut the corners too close...

PK really has to sit down and think a little bit. He can't keep acting sneaky like that (especially in front of cameras). There's only so many times you can make the refs look bad before you become a marked man.

It's great that he loves the game and is enthusiastic and all that, but he needs to be smarter. Channel that energy and enthusiasm in a way that doesn't put him in the box for 2 minutes.

I'm probably the biggest Montreal hater on here and you're definitely correct

Not much to say about how they won this time

I just want Boston to wipte the floor with them
