Game one of Rangers/Canes is tomorrow, along with game 7 of the Knights/Stars. Has that ever happened before? The second round beginning in one conference before the first round has ended in the other.

That's huge.

Woll is a big reason why Toronto was able to get back in the series.

Swayman is prob best goalie in the league

Toronto needs to move one of their top scoring forwards for a top 2 D.. they're pretty good otherwise.. Being a Cub's fan I feel for TO a bit

Trivia: Who was president last time Leafs beat the Bruins the playoffs?

pipe down or bowlby's gonna get ideas
haha I hope he does.. how about Nylander or Marner for Drew... A real top line winger to play with Q as center. Watch what Clarke does running PP1. Will transform the team.

Brendan Shanahan has been president of the Maple Leafs since 2014.

I wonder if he'll get fired.

Interesting story with some quotes from a former King:

“Pretty much the whole pre-game meetings are based on the other team’s analytics,” said defenseman Sean Walker, who joined the club before the trade deadline after time with the Flyers and Kings. “It’s new to me. It’s not something that I paid attention to too much before, but it definitely gives you a strong idea of what the other team is trying to do. I think it’s helpful. It’s definitely interesting to see the analytics and how it plays out on the ice.

“(My previous teams) would talk about some stuff, like ‘they like to do this’ and I’m sure that was based off the analytics, but here they actually show you the numbers and the stats and where they place in the league.”

It's nice to see at least one team is using analytics in conjunction with video to show players tendencies:

“We’re just trying to find a competitive advantage to what we’re doing,” Avs defenseman Devon Toews said. “Analytics gives you data, and our coaching staff does a good job of supporting it with video and the things that show you the eye test as well as the numbers. They do a good job of bringing both pieces to us and we’ve done a good job of implementing it in games.

“They do a good job of understanding, like this number is a bit of an outlier and they’re not seeing that when they watch the video. Others stick out and it’s very blatant and straightforward — this is the way they play and this is what they do and that’s why the numbers are like that. They do a good job of explaining all of that.”

That video was really believable. Im not into tech so I never gave it any thought but this AI will do more harm than good.
Actually Im not even sure what good can come out of it. People will make fakes like this and cause damage. People will be out of their film jobs. Just a very bad path to go down.
You didn’t hear about the principal somewhere back east that got in trouble for a racist tirade…only for it to be AI done by a coworker who was upset with him?

Unfortunately, it would appear this technology got released to the public without caring about the ramifications or without some ethics established so it doesn't get misused.

Won't go off topic too much to discuss the good that comes out of AI, but most of what's being publicly consumed are generally irresponsible uses of AI. But it's great at reading through thousands of pages of data and determining risk factors for a sick patient, faster than a Human doctor. While students often use it to cheat on papers, it can consume large blocks of text or data and summarize key ideas and points, if faster decisions need to be made.

It just depends on the data the model is trained under, and how it gets used.

The Internet is a cesspool though, so the general visibility and availability of it doesn't shed it in a good light. The public consumption is leading to stealing art from people and being misused to deceive.
