I view Fiala as a fine player to target in a buy-low "value" trade but, over the course of a full season, his skill level just barely clears his liability level, and his skill level is extremely high.
If they were stocks, Kaprizov would be Microsoft and Fiala would be Pfizer. Both are good companies that can make you a lot of money, but Microsoft will do so reliably while Pfizer will do so when you buy low and things go right for them.
Like 57special said, though, they'd need to make the cap work. I, personally, don't know what that looks like, but I can tell you I'd only buy low on Fiala.

The 3rd for Fiala was tongue in cheek on my part. I should have put a sarcasm emoji with it.
Roster player + prospect + pick is the right base in all likelihood. They would probably want something like Chisholm+Ohgren+1st.

Forget about Fiala. I'd say Guerin doesn't even like the guy, lack of character. What just happened in LA doesn't make it better...
Pretty much agree, for a team that always lacked talent it was hard to see us move him but the return and his recent antics have me moving on. Unless we can get him dirt cheap and put him with an older more experienced boldy.

He was a legit star in the 114gp prior to his injury, but after? Yeah, lot of people held on too long that he was still a really good player. By the end of his time here he was flat out bad.
I still don't think he was that bad, but not for what we were paying him. Would take him over our bottom pair guys.
