Tidbits: Around the League: NHL News - 2024-25

I turned it off after it was 3-1. How do you allow 2 goals in 5 seconds? I turned it back on for OT.

The matchup with them on Friday is huge. Could either give Calgary life, or it could nearly lock us in for bonus hockey.

Getting into the Pacific side of the playoff bracket seems very attainable now.
Wild control their own destiny.

No help from other teams to clinch 7th:
-5p total
-1 regulation win with 4p total (RW tiebreak over STL)
-2 OT wins (not SO) (ROW tiebreaker over STL)
-1 OT win and 1 SO win (head-to-head tie breaker over STL)

Clink 8th:
-3p total (RW tiebreaker over CGY)

Derek Forbort has a broken orbital bone because of the dirty punch Trenin threw when the fight was over

Still amazed that they didn't give him a major....they haven't mentioned a suspension, have they? I sure as heck wouldn't complain about it. It seems that BG has brought in guys not only "tough", but they appear to have control issues.

Apparently he got an "aggressor" penalty, which only comes with supplemental discipline for repeat offenders (specifically repeat aggressors). So he won't talk to DoPS at all.

I just think about how if Kaprizov happened to get in a fight and someone threw that punch at him, I'd be absolutely livid about it. Or if it was Hartman throwing it to someone else, most people would be demanding a suspension (maybe forever). I guess the punch wasn't officially against any rules but it was really shady.

Didn't Forbert initiate the fight? If Trenin just randomly picked on him I'd get the outrage more, but forbert started it, hit Trenin when he was on his knees.

Forbort got his medicine. He sought out the fight because of a clean check on their star. Tries to throw several punches at Trenin while he’s in a vulnerable position going to the ice and on the ice. Has a rep of it as well. Not going to feel sorry that Trenin connected when Forbort was in a vulnerable spot on the ice. Stupid games, stupid prizes and all that.

There’s no discipline coming, as there shouldn’t be, as hands are thrown on many occasions when actual spirited fights go to the ice.

My issue with that for it situation is the ref jumped in on the defenseless combatant and made him even more vulnerable. The ref should attempt to get in between but you can’t basically tackle one guy
