Marleau ripping up the NHL right now. Has eight goals, with another two periods left today against the Avs.

Yeah, I'm interested on Landeskog's health. Could be a concussion as he took a big part of that hit to the head too.

Stuart hit was too high for my liking, I would think he gets a game or two depending on Landy's injury.

Marleau is such a beast though!

Joe Thornton with yet another multi-point game tonight with a goal and assist both on the powerplay and we're not even more than two minutes into the second period. Thornton is scary good right now and just seems to get better with age.

Remember that one time in the off-season I made a proposal for us to acquire Marleau, and every said we should stay away from him since he sucks in the playoffs?

I REMEMBER

If we got Marleau and out him sight the Sedins and he got 8+ goals, everyone and their mothers would just discredit it because the "Sedins can make a pylon score that many"

Former Clipper Matt Irwin scores his first with the Sharks.

It's Garrison vs. Irwin in a battle of Clippers tomorrow, and now that Irwin has made the NHL, we have

  • Garrison
  • Glass
  • Greening
  • O'Byrne
  • Irwin
  • Bitz(?)

as former Clippers who are active in the big league. Too bad the man most responsible for their success is coaching in Victoria now.

He'll get suspended.

Shoulder made direct head contact.

I hope not or the game is going to complete crap. Having players skate around like a nancy in the neutral zone with their heads down ... perfectly adequate defensive play by Stuart. Keep your head up, kid. Especially right in that spot near the boards ... you'd think Landeskog hadn't been playing hockey his entire life.

Kept his elbow tucked, didn't leave the ice, landeskog was leaning over and had his head down it was a clean hit and be a terrible suspension

Bestwick is a tool.. it was time for him to go, Those guys were all from years ago and his success rate the past few years was awful.

how so? the player being hit has to have some blame put on him as well no?

Not anymore.

His head was down, the NHL has places the onus of the hitter to make sure he doesn't hit the head in that situation.

I like the hit. It's why I like hockey, but I've seen that suspended numerous times the last few years.

I know the rule but it doesn't make much sense here, are all players just going to skate with their head down in the neutral zone unchecked due to fear of suspension?

I'm on your side.

I've just seen too many hits just like that get penalized by supplementary discipline the last couple years.

I don't like it one bit. To be fair the line is very fine.

I can see this one going either way. Landy was head down but Stuart didn't do anything to mitigate going for the head, in fact he seemed rise up to go for the head.
