Is this unique to the Kings though?

I haven't heard of a team doing this before. Usually you get your time with the cup in the summer and when the new season starts, that's it. The Kings aren't the 2013 champions, they don't need to be parading the cup before a 2013 regular season game.

After the Kings passed around the Stanley Cup before their first game of the season, they don't have any room to complain about rubbing it in with celebrations. In this case, I give Yakupov a pass.

The Kings passing around the cup wasn't something the players planned, it was a team function...Yakupov's celebration was an individual act.

Our very own Cash Money Billionare Cash Money Cash Hockey Player Cash Money EK9 just answered back to Crosby schooling him with a beauty of a goal himself. Yeah Kane is a total tool but he has one of the most promising physical packages in the game. I hope his brain catches up to it at some point in his career.

It was in the context of having a good goal getting called back, a call on the ice that was reversed on a non-reviewable play. The officials almost handed the Kings a win they didn't deserve. Yakupov's goal saved the league and officials from the inevitable crap-storm from the media over that call. The on-ice officials were probably more relieved than anyone.

Does Yakupov take his celebrations too far? No doubt. Do I care if he rubs it in against a classless organization like the Kings? Not one bit.

Don't get me wrong, I personally don't care that he did it...but if I were an LA King player, I'd remember it and get my pound of flesh next time around.

Caps tied with NJ now too. I think in order for then to be a team that could be interested in Luongo, we need them to look better as a team, just need Hiltby/Neuvirth to suck.

I wish Crosby crapped the bed every time he played on TSN. The love fest is almost too much to handle.

Probably a league idea

Probably a league idea

Apparently it was the League who organized it - most likely for marketing purposes or something along those lines after the lockout, being a southern team in the US and all - but still... I mean even the patch on the front of the jersey they wore for the home opener which said "L.A 2011-12 Stanley Cup Champions" was pretty tacky in itself. :help:
