That was a weird weird game.

Emery was amazing... but I can't tell how much of that is Emery being good or the Flame's offense being that bad. I'm going to lead to 70% Emery being good but a lot of missed Flames chances.

Hawks were dead tired... they were barely playing in the 3rd period and OT.

PJ Stock is stupid. He is saying the flames needed to hit more to get the Hawks tired. Did he not watch the game? If the hawks were any more tired there would have been deaths. I always thought have multiple 2 minute shifts in the offensive zone was a good way to wear the other team down. The flames were doing that.

Hawks haven't lost yet this season (shootputs don't count) but they aren't looking spectacular though. I could see them go on a small losing streak soon.

True

But they also have played 7 of there first 9 on road (And have more road games left on this trip)

Could also finally get back in groove at home and go on roll

Still lots of talent on that Hawks squad. And their goaltending looks to be settled.

yup, kane, towes, hossa, sharp, hossa, seabrook, Bolland, and keith can all score..of course not as good as team that won the cup but the core is there and young still

Iginla still have zero goals.........should be concern for Flames fans

He always starts out slow every year so that really isn't that much of a surprise. Problem is, the other "six million dollar man" on the team has the same number of goals....zero.

Hate 3 point games but every time the Flames fail, a smile forms on my face.

I think they are the same team. They have a great core but the role players have not improved. They have almost no physical edge. I am nitpicking as they have the core but i do not see any noticable different in the team that placed 8th and 6th in the conference and lost in the first round the last two years. They depend on too few players too much.
Watching Chicago vs Vancouver showed me that neither team has changed. So i would expect the standing by the end of the year to reflect that. With the shortened season though who knows.

They definitely looked a little off through fatigue and now pressure is off after a great start that's why a slump would be a possibility.

Besides don't the hawks normally suck in Feb? Stupid Calgary screwed that up.

Getting Ovechkin in my fantasy pool looks like it might single handedly cost me the season. He's going to start shooting at a higher percentage at some point, but his 5 on 5 shot distance increasing by 7 feet so far this season is troubling.

It's pretty even outside of Holtby blowing it. 5 goals on 16 shots...

Not just that... Ovechkin is nothing like he used to be, and Backstrom isn't playing any better. But yeah, it's hard to get into the game when your goalie can't stop anything.

Great job by Ovechkin on that PP just now. Overall think this has been a pretty good game for him despite all the criticism.

The team is more the issue than he is, but he doesn't look like a guy that's willing to learn to do anything differently 5 on 5. He's almost a parody of his former self, flying down the wing, pulling the shot inside and trying to shoot between the defensemen's legs. Looks like a guy playing a videogame and just trying the same move over and over.

George McPhee is the worst.
