No question McDavid should be suspended for that. I'm pretty forgiving of hits on the puck-carrier where there happens to be unintended head contact, but that's a clear elbow to the head away from the play.

I hope we get Edmonton in round one, they're basically a poor man's version of us. At least Winnipeg and Montreal can claim they have goaltending and physicality/forward depth on us. Edmonton is even more top heavy than we are with worse defense and equally unpredictable goaltending. If you shutdown McDrai, which both we and the Habs can, they fold like a cheap tent.

The game plan would be putting Mikheyev and Engvall on them and just shadow them. Prevent them from winding up in the neutral zone. I also liked what Montreal did with Barrie. Just have him a rough ride tonight, which is the kind of treatment Quinn's Leafs would put on Wade Redden.

They need to genuinely be concerned about this, the Habs and Leafs defend McDrai better than most teams ever have. And if those 2 aren't going at their usual pace where are the oilers getting their production from? This is 2 of their 3 possible playoff opponents lol

I hope they draw Winnipeg round 1 and beat them, it's their best matchup out of all the playoff teams. That way we face them round 2 (if we advance) and avoid Helly

whenever i watch the oil or jets they seem to be beating up on bad teams and being outplayed by good teams. it’s why i feel so confident about our boys! both of those teams are overrated imo.

They're used to playing exhibition-like hockey where there is no contact or tight-checking defense. They dont react well to stick lifts or picks. They're almost always looking to blow zone early or get a pass at red/blue line.

It's why Oilers fans think every little stick tap or check is a penalty.
