I really think he’s gonna be a 100pt+ player in Colorado. Necas is going to command $13-14M too
He's a good fit there. He probably has a chance to be more consistent with his production in that system, especially if he stays with Mack. Much like when Lindholm exploded for a while elsewhere, I don't think we were going to consistently get that dude here, so no worries (plus I'm an Avs fan too!). I also had a hard time believing things ended with him getting a long term contract here and you may be right that's what the Avs end up looking at with him and the cap rising.

Yeah, I think both teams could not be happier with what they got. Necas is such a great fit with MacKinnon/Makar-types of speedster and an all-world offense.

So nice to see him flying free out there. It's like when your parents tell you your dog has gone to a beautiful, faraway farm where he can run free in a giant field--but it's actually true!
Lovely way to state it. Hope he enjoys his time there however long it shall be.

Nykki bought GiGi a winter coat for the move. I worry most for the puppy.

How would the cap rising benefit NYR and Toronto more than other teams?
It’s been mentioned/assumed that the amount of teams spending up to the ceiling will decrease with a rising cap. You could make the argument that these incredibly rich owners shouldn’t have a problem spending matching the increase, but the smaller market/struggling teams are definitely going to be question marks. Leafs, Canadiens, Rangers as big market high revenue teams won’t have any issues.

Maybe the number of cap teams will decrease but that will benefit all cap teams equally, including us.

The teams that will benefit most are the teams with core players already on long term contracts — like us. Rags and Leafs don’t exactly fit that bill

Sure, but the reality where a raised salary cap leads to the big market teams spending significantly more every year than smaller market teams creates an advantage for them. Not sure how that’s controversial or a disagreeable fact. It’s up to those teams to still be smart about how they spend that extra money, but at the very least it mitigates any poor spending and allows those teams to take risks and operate with less “efficient” contracts.
