I know that the Rangers have a real knack of getting out of bad contracts, but if we've learned anything from the likes of Chicago and San Jose, there can be a critical point where having too many awful contracts cause you to rebuild. I'm about 90% sure, however, that the Canes' move to get Rantanen backed the Rangers into a corner, considering that they have a salivating and hangry fanbase that they need to appease. I wouldn't be shocked if New York takes on the full contract.

Looks like a huge win for the Rongos. FC, as talented as he is, is a huge injury liability. I honestly feel nervous FOR him watching him skate sometimes.
Idk, JT could easily be a net negative with that contract. Even if not I don’t think he moved the needle much for them. They needed some young talent there not another overpaid underperforming vet
 
So, do the Rags trade Tro? Or they gonna roll with Zibs / JTM / Tro down the middle? I mean that's amazing depth but that's $22M. They'll have $18M cap space next year for 7+ roster players
