They were supposed to downfall after losing Thomas. They were supposed to downfall after losing Chara. They were supposed to downfall after losing Bergeron.

At this point, I think it’s safer to assume that Korpisalo will somehow become otherworldly than betting on a Bruins downfall.
The first one is bullshit. Everyone knew Rask was going to be a star. The other two, yeah 100%.

I’m confused about the preseason drama. Is it better if Wifi injures Stutzke in game 3 of the regular season?

They could just suspend people for 20 games when they do something insanely dirty instead.

Ottawa had 3 guys get injured last night, oof

Celebrini sat after a hit

Montreal fans crying about a body hit while justifying an elbow attempt to the head

Rempe trying to run NJ players.

And its only the preseason…

At this point, why even play any of your NHL talent during the preseason? Use it as an opportunity to see how your long term and middling prospects look to see if anyone is ready to break out, but outside of that, its just not worth playing them in meaningless games that seem to get players hurt more often than not because they're not all always playing at 100% effort.

Don’t they have to dress a certain number of NHL regulars or am I confusing with something else?

15.4 Exhibition Games.

(c) A Club shall be permitted to dress a minimum of eight (8) veterans for any Exhibition Game. For purposes of this Section 15.4(c), a veteran shall constitute either:

(1) a forward or defenseman who played in thirty (30) NHL Games during the previous season,

(2) a goaltender who either dressed in fifty (50) or more NHL Games or played in thirty (30) or more NHL Games in the previous season,

(3) a first round draft choice from the most recent year's Entry Draft, or

(4) any Player who has played one-hundred (100) or more career NHL Games.

Guys can get hurt in practice, exhibition games, regular season, playoffs, and even just training as we've seen a handful of times. I don't think getting rid of all preseason games or never playing guys is the answer. The product in the regular season in all sports at the beginning of the season is pretty awful as it is and gets worse the less preseason game action that's seen. And the solution to this problem being floated is to add two more regular season games while reducing the number of preaseason games. As mentioned, nobody is going to feel better about injuries that happen in the regular season versus the preseason, so I don't see that helping all that much. The best thing you can do is try to get rid of predatory hits and actions regardless of outcome by giving out actual punishments, but there doesn't seem to be a real appetite for that. Even then, you're still going to have fluke things and injuries just because hockey is a contact sport and these guys get a lot of wear and tear on their bodies.

Id like to see 4 pre-season games.

1st game is an intra squad game that the NHL dubs as a charity night where teams align with a local and national charity. have some interesting skill competitions and such mixed in.

2nd game is mostly AHL squad game at Nashville or Tampa

3rd game is home and the warm up game for the roster

4th game can be home or away and we get a look at any of the prospects they want a 2nd look, guys who need another warm game, etc.

edit:
seems im not the only one who likes 4
