This is a really sad situation all around. What Miller did was very wrong and the way he and the Bruins have handled it is even worse. But I do believe in second chances and rehabilitation especially for transgressions that happened when a person was a minor or even a young adult whose brain was not fully formed. What that might entail for Miller I don't have a clue and I am glad I don't have to make that decision. He definitely needs to make things right with the victim, like actually really make things right, and maybe do some sincere public speaking against bullying. But even then I don't know if that would be enough.

He gave her HIV?
Looking back at the article(s) it doesn't actually say/confirm that, it says "causing the victim to be tested for hepatitis, HIV and STDs"...guess I fell for the typical clickbait of adding in an unnecessary detail for extra embellishment

Yea part of me wants to say holy-crap he was a young bully, we do have to give people a chance to learn and grow (i.e. TDA), but he's 20 now, and as has been pointed out didn't issue an apology until a week or so ago...on Twitter? Kid should have been groveling from the outset, getting psychiatric help, paying their medical bills, some sort of reparations, etc. And he didn't just bully a kid, he bullied a disabled girl where he knowingly took advantage of that...(EDIT: she was tested for Hep, HIV, and STDs as a result - no + confirmations mentioned)...like literally potentially ruined the girls life. I'm not saying his life should never recover from that because again, kids are often only as good as their upbringing, but it's going to require a LOT of self-sacrifice to build-up the required goodwill to come out of that.
He bullied a boy named Isaiah.

So it sounds like Dahlin got injured in his tussle with KK.

Rasmus Dahlin will miss Saturday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning due to an upper-body injury, the club announced about 90 minutes before faceoff in Amalie Arena. Dahlin is listed as day to day and becomes the fourth member of the Buffalo blueline out with an injury.

Coach Don Granato declined to go into specifics on the injury during his pregame media briefing but a source confirmed it occurred Friday night in Carolina during the first-period confrontation Dahlin had with Hurricanes forward Jasperi Kotkaniemi.

Samsonov injured tonight so the leafs new #1 is Kallgren.

I’m sure we were going to see him tomorrow anyway with them playing back to back.

They don’t currently have any other goalies under contract in North America so they will need to sign someone to backup tomorrow. Lucky for them Washington claimed Aube-Kubel so they’re now at 49 contracts and can actually do that.

Didn't he destroy us once last year?

2 different views.. bad hit.

The weirdest part was after all the penalties were sorted out, Montreal wound up with a 4 on 3 PP, which they scored on. I was working that game and even SN’s production team was like “How does Anderson blatantly boarding a guy end up with a powerplay for Montreal? You gotta let the Vegas players defend their teammate.”

Looked like you could have given out 2 Fighting majors and 2 Instigators to the Vegas guys that came to clean it up.. and Pietro also jumped in.. Still an odd situation.. Note: Not trying to blame Vegas for standing up for their guy.

Calgary just tied it to make it 3-3. I know the Devils are off to a great start, but like the Sabres, I don't yet think that they're elite village pillagers just yet. I hope Calgary can cool them down a little bit.

EDIT: Dammit. Oh well, it might be up to us to shut this train down.

I can see some of the points on both sides of the Miller thing (moreso on the he sucks and the situation is awful side). But for those saying people deserve second chances, I guess the question is what exactly does that mean? It's not like he can't live a normal life. But does he deserve the privilege of playing in the NHL (or even getting signed since he's no lock to make it) and all that entails? I think it can easily be argued no, especially with the seeming lack of remorse. Not being allowed to play in the NHL isn't exactly a death sentence or the only way one can make a living.

Regardless, you couldn't pay me to take this particular chance on this kid.

Matty Tkachuk poked Quick in the eye, right after getting him high with a stick during the play. And also getting up in his face right before the final buzzer. Panthers had an easy tap-in goal during that second sequence but couldn't get it to go with seconds left and lost.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the league reviews that one. The first was unintentional, but on the second one Tkachuk deliberately turned his blade into Quick’s eye-hole and damn near took his eye out. Tkachuk did a good job of looking in the other direction so there’s some plausible deniability, but what other purpose does it serve to put your blade on the goalie’s face mask and rotate it?

Remarkably, Quick actually stopped playing with 2 seconds left in a one-goal game with the puck right in his kitchen, just to take a swing at Tkachuk. That’s some 1970s craziness we don’t see much anymore.

In any case, Florida’s got 1 regulation W in their past 6, and are sitting as close to Montreal as they are to Tampa. Losing Ekblad is really stinging them.
