lol what exactly is Rutherford trying to accomplish? whats his goal here? Cause it really looks like he came out and told us he doesnt know what he's doing and wants to be fired because he's in over his head

I honestly find it refreshing to hear from Rutherford that he’s basically just being real.

So much of that fan base and media are delusional and either have their heads in the clouds or in the gutters.

That said, that Team is a mess and those comments probably don’t help. Although I think he’s saying it because he isn’t getting the offers he wants. So its a bit of a warning that the return isn’t going to be great, so don’t be shocked.

It really feels like Pettersson is the one they are going to move and this is put out there to lower the expectations of that dumb fan base.
Miller has a full NMC. Pettersson's does not kick in until next year.

Miller's clause probably kills his value unless a team like the Rangers is desperate. A team like Columbus has a ton of cap space and a herd of defensemen. But with Fantili, Monahan and Jenner would they really want Pettersson?

Nashville is constantly looking for offense. I could see them having interest. But what would they be willing to give up???

The Canucks need to sort this out NOW. If they go into next year with the same problems then they are in deep trouble. Hughes will be looking to leave for sure. At that point they will be forced to trade him and then they will be in full tank mode I expect. Hughes is a great asset but one + year left with the threat that he will simply walk to join his brothers will severely dampen any return.

I'm not a doctor but to me it's obvious that it actually was Heiskanen who injured Stone. An injury that will put Stone on LTIR until approximately game 1 of the playoffs.
But these are the type of injuries that will need time to fully diagnose. I'd say that by late February or very early March the true impact of this act of Heiskanen's will be better understood.

Bruins getting slaughtered, just wiped all over the ice by the Conference worst Buffalo Sabres. Freaking hilarious. Of course Marchand pads his stats with a garbage time goal while the Bruins get absolutely nothing going all game. Bruins now 52GP, Only 30 left and teams 1pt behind them have 3 or more games in hand. Bruins are not a playoff club or a WC club.

Is a Frederic for Skinner trade too obvious?

BOS needs offence and the Oil need size, both teams give up their most disappointing pieces.

Frederic doesn't properly replace Kane, nor is he a high-end solution to any problem; but he does offer
a decent bit of flexibility, as he can play C/W and be a secondary PK'er. Plus his size would let him run shotgun next to Kane, on what could be a fun combo for the playoffs.

RNH-McDavid-RV
Podz-Drai-Hyman
Janmark-Rico-Brown
Kane-Frederic-Kap
Philp, Perry

Imo that's an outstanding group of 14, with multiple backups for each role.

Frederik was a fan favorite in Boston. In a season in which the bruins are in danger of missing playoffs I don't think they're going to do this to their fans. They all probably seen J Skinner enough to know what a joke he is on overall game. Doubt this would please the fans in boston at all. I'd do it. Don't see why Bruins would.

It may sound refreshing, but he pretty much just threw his captain and the other player under the bus. Miller has been emphatically denying this for weeks on end, and now he's just been submarined. The media is going to torture him now, and it's going to be real tough to focus on hockey for him.

Saying all that, I'm loving it!

This actually kind of makes me feel bad for preds fans. I think the oilers 93 to 04 team has better forward depth than that tbh.

lol.

I think my favourite interaction in this whole saga was little Petey pouting "you're just making shit up!" and storming off like a 8 year old about to have a tantrum.

Pettersson strikes me as absolutely insufferable.

All the talent in the world but just needs to be catered to at every turn or he sulks. At a certain point just shut up and go to work, good god man.

Pettersson has 5 points in his last 16 games lol... for $11.5 million. That is crazy bad. He was doing pretty good when Miller was out of the lineup and as soon as Miller comes back, he sucks again. Baffling.

Vancouver is going to lose 2 players after this year that are heart and soul type guys in Miller and Boesser. They're going to be one of the softest teams, physically and mentally next season.

Elias strikes me as the kind of guy that can't handle being called out. Guy tries so hard to put on an act like he doesn't care about anything, but he probably is always on the edge of cracking. Miller probably scrambles Elias' brain pointing out how much he wilts under pressure.

That's a tough call to know who to get rid of. Little fake android boy that will never be able to perform when the chips are down. Or Miller that acts like the player version of Tocchet. Way too high strung, making players uncomfortable all the time, but actually is able to bring it when it matters. Although Miller is not a truly elite guy, so his "bringing it" is below what Canucks can dream Pettersson will bring if he could actually perform under high pressure.

Are the Kings somehow gonna do the same thing as last year? Look like a powerhouse at Christmas and then end up fighting for a WC spot? Only 3 points up on the Flames all of a sudden.
