Just going to start a new "general" thread for now.

Tips-Chiefs game yesterday was decent. Tips had a great stretch in the middle of the 2nd and drew some penalties with their speed, but only got one goal out of it. Chiefs had some good stretches as well. Considering the Tips have 3 centers out it was a decent showing by them. These two + Victoria look a cut above the rest of the conference.

Hurricanes are looking great as well. On a 8 game winning streak. Beat Spokane last week on there long trip. Marques has been out the last two months as well with injury. Think they make it to the finals come playoff time?

The Central looks like a bloodbath. I don't pay much attention to the East, so have no idea how Lethbridge / Med Hat / Calgary stack up against each other. Lethbridge and Calgary have already made their US trips (Med Hat is coming next week and I'm planning to go), and neither looked particularly threatening... but that was of course before either loaded up.

PG looked like the best team in the WHL for 10 minutes tonight and then the worst for 50. It’s to the point where fans are calling for Mark Lamb to step down as head coach. Great roster yet horrible results, would be shocked to see them make it out of the first round if this goes on.

Lucky to beat WheatKings on Friday. WK playing 3rd game in 4 nights against a well rested team. Third goal was obviously off side. Then lose to Kamloops at home. Wondering what all the hoopla was about the Cougars???

Post trade deadline, I think I'd be shocked if the last team standing isn't one of:

West
  • Tips
  • Chiefs
  • Royals
East
  • Tigers
  • Hurricanes
  • Hitmen

The tiers seem pretty clear... am I off here?

Yes thinking the same here… think the Hurricanes will have the edge in the eastern conference with all there championship experience they brought in.

That’s a lot of words to say that the wheat kings lost to the cougars

IDK, after last night, I'm still thinking the East is Med Hat's to lose with the Hitmen being second. I personally think, especially in junior, that championship experience is a bit of an overrated factor.

I also just noticed that Price only has 2 assists in 9 games with Lethbridge. I know points aren't everything for a defenceman, and I haven't seen him play, but that appears to me to be a little disappointing, especially compared to Mynio who has 4-4 in 9 games and Molendyk with 1-8 in 10 games since the trades.

Yakemchuk left last night's game with a lower body injury and it might be a serious one, but I don't know if it would be a death blow to the Hitmen's chances because he, from the eye test, hasn't really been the same dominating force as he was last year and the Hitmen aren't nearly as reliant on him this season. It's obviously not good, but I don't think it's the end of the world.

Maybe I need simpler words to explain to you that they were very lucky to win that game. Should have smoked the WK given the circumstances but needed a very questionable goal to win. What does that say about the Cougs??
