And here I was fearing the Flames would end up with a top 5 pick this year.... but it looks like they might finish where they always finish... just out of the playoffs, which is fine and dandy with me.
Lol flames are in their annual “people count us out” phase. And here I was fearing the Flames would end up with a top 5 pick this year.... but it looks like they might finish where they always finish... just out of the playoffs, which is fine and dandy with me.
The Flames of the last 20 years love being just bad enough to miss the playoffs or just good enough to get in. They should have started a full rebuild last year and potentially have a good team in the early years of the new arena. And here I was fearing the Flames would end up with a top 5 pick this year.... but it looks like they might finish where they always finish... just out of the playoffs, which is fine and dandy with me.
Things might be so drastically different had they not rushed to re-sign Huberdeau. The Flames of the last 20 years love being just bad enough to miss the playoffs or just good enough to get in. Flames, as usual, have a collection of "good" players, but no elite ones...not even "Very good" players since Kadri is washed and Huberdeau too (still contribute enough despite the massive overpays))
Andersson, Weegar, Coleman, Zary, Sharagovich, Coronato....all good players and prospects but nothing exciting
but again, all depends if Wolf can continue playing a .926 save % clip if they stay in the playoff hunt
Now why would we want that? The Flames of the last 20 years love being just bad enough to miss the playoffs or just good enough to get in. They should have started a full rebuild last year and potentially have a good team in the early years of the new arena.
