I could not resist but take a look at CP. the amount of math they are collectively trying to do to convince themselves they will squeak into the playoffs is hilarious.
They also are blaming the league for the overtime format. The fact that they could not close out that many games in regulation isn’t the problem, nope.
Unbelievable

Flames won't make the playoffs unless there is an epic collapse by the Jets. I actually want Calgary to make it as I like it better when both Alberta teams are in it. On paper Calgary looks like a good team, but they seem to have no finish and their goal-tending is iffy

A team with almost no scoring talent unable to win games 3v3? Who’d have thunk?

Alot of them are all over the map. My co-worker is at acceptance and is all ready for them to miss the playoffs by one or two points and finish outside the bottom 11 or whatever it is to wind up outside of any chance (even if it's a minimal one) to bump up to the #1 spot.

The Jets and the Predators. The preds are only 1 point behind with 3 games in hand. It's a 3 team race for 1 spot and Calgary is in last currently.

If the Preds have 3 games in hand with 15 games left, that means they have a bunch of back to backs coming. Because both teams play today, they still have 3 games in hand on the Jets. Nashville is going to run out of gas and it looks like they're on fumes already as they are losing to some very beatable teams lately.

I hate the Jets but I'd rather see them in over Calgary, just for spite.

Nashville has a brutal schedule. Only 3 games against teams outside a playoff spot (at Buffalo/home to St. Louis/at Calgary). Four back to backs.

Agreed - I just know Nashville has a pretty terrible schedule and has largely been trending down lately. I wouldn't write them off by any means, but I think they have the toughest battle of the 3 with respect to acquiring points. Calgary has a butter soft schedule to end the season I thought?

To be fair to the Huberdeau deal we have the Nurse deal, the trade is 1 for 1.

The CP boards yesterday were talking about the Oilers being within reach. That's a whole new level of Kool-Aid drinking
I'd take Nurse at 10.5 over Huberdeau any day.

Nurse is really overpaid by 2 million but without him we have a huge hole in our lineup.

Huberdeau will be overpaid by 3.5 million next season and I doubt Calgary misses a beat without him.

No schedule seems soft enough for these 22-23 fLames
