Players are on board putting on a show and promoting the brand.
The game gets worse every year I think. And yah the skills thing does too. I recall looking forward to the old ones when I was a kid in the 80s so i don't know how this is gearing it towards kids.Worst All-Star ever? Never watched today but the skill competition was a complete joke
For Bieber that kinda stuff generally depends on his agents and his "people" and whether they think it's a good event for their client. I think he's been having some health issues so he probably would pass, I don't think it's the NHL that's the hold up, I mean if he wanted to be at All-Star 2023, the NHL would roll out the red carpet to have him.
Yeah. See no reason not to just do this. The NHL is trying to get more ratings having more events and more hours of coverage and more games. They're figuring that the more time slots the more accumulated rating. I don't know its the case, possibly its the case. Thus them having 3 games instead of one to kind of fill the ratings day and to create some buzz. Does anybody even care enough to watch the final or any of it?Just get rid of all the gimmicks and go back to the old format.
Have the teams play 5x5, east vs west, three 20 minute periods.
Each team is 12 forwards, 8 defencemen and 3 goalies.
Get rid of all the gimmicks at the skills competition and only have NHL players that made the ASG involved.
I watched the Pacific division game but it was more just on in the background while I did other stuff. After they lost I just shut it off. At least with east vs west in a traditional game you'd have more people interested until the end.Yeah. See no reason not to just do this. Its what I don't get. At some point just move on. ASG weekend has sucked basically for as long as I've watched hockey. Only time it didn't suck was maybe 60's, 70's and yet people continue to monitor it or watch it all the while saying it sucks, how much they hate it, screw Bettman, yada yada.
Its akin to buying the worst breakfast cereal everytime, complaining how much you hate it, and you've been buying it for 50yrs and gulping it down every morning. Just change the channel, watch something else.
Meh. I was outside almost constantly yesterday. Just coming in once in awhile so I wouldn't get sunburn. Thats how nice it was. Then went to Flying Canoe festival and had a great time at a great event while people were still complaining about some horrible allstar game or trick pony event. Never more important than any time to do an activity that is more productive or enjoyable or that benefits something or someone. But here I am saying this online, the 3 ring pantheon of wasted time.I watched the Pacific division game but it was more just on in the background while I did other stuff. After they lost I just shut it off. At least with east vs west in a traditional game you'd have more people interested until the end.
To increase the give a shit factor of the players maybe the NHL should donate 100K per player on the winning team to a charity of their choice.
Rupp is just owning Leaf fans this weekend, has them in a tizzy. Well done.
The all star game was a complete bust. Somebody tell Garyatrics.
NHL gets dragged through mud for terrible All-Star Skills night
The comments are brutal…www.hockeyfeed.com
We are better off if doesn't know it was a bust. Cause as we know, he doesn't like to be shown that something he is involved with is a failure. (Coyotes are Exhibit A) So maybe we've been going about this the wrong way. Start telling him that everything is great and maybe he'll do the opposite.
Because he put the Coyotes in a university arena, watch him move the all-star game to a university arena so it sells out and called a success.
