I agree, but if it gets him to Detroit I am all in favor of the Rangers being shitty. hahahaha the bigger thing will be if Illitch treats him like they did Brad Stuart in getting home to family. < less than a 2 hour flight and no time change. Of course, he is also from the Detroit area.

I'd love to see Copp and Gus gone and Danielson brought up. Toss in a #2 if need be. < Though I would rather toss in Kane, Veleno up front or any D man not named Mo or Simon.
 
what is Trotz trying to do in Nashville? He prioritized Saaros and lost Askarov. He lost Fabbro for nothing (who has played 21 minutes a night, put up 4 points, and is a +6 in Columbus), and just dealt Tomasino for a 4th.

Maybe Stevie should be on the phone trying to get L'Heureux for a 5th or something.

We have no idea. Him and Bruno are basically killing their value and then moving them, makes no sense.

Isn't that what Fester and Stevie are doing with Veleno? Would be lucky to pick up a 4th for him now. Tomasino was also a 1st round pick, Joey is more physical though not consistently.

Joe Veleno hasn't been worth more than a late second round pick since the moment we drafted him.
 
I'm gonna say something that you all may think is crazy, but I promise you, it's better than our current option.

If Rasmus Ristolainen was available I would take him right now over that scrub Jeff Petry. I was at the Flyers/Preds game last night and he wasn't the f***up I've seen him be in the past. Still not someone you want playing more than 20 minutes a night and you want to force him into a defensive role, but he's better than Chiarot. He's damn sure better than Petry and Holl. He plays physical, and he'll work in the corners and help clear the crease.
 
Wild get Jiricek but pay a 1st and a 2nd along with a depth D. I was interested in him, but I'm fine not giving up a 1st for a question mark.

Yeah not worth the price at least for now, maybe Jiricek proves me wrong but thats a steep price for him.

Hope Yzerman did see the Anderson vs. Trouba fight as well and understands that he isn't all that. Headhunting with your elbows is one thing, you don't need to pay someone 8m AAV if you really feel like someone in your team needs to do that.
 
Holy crap! Rangers are playing some horrible hockey. I wonder if Drury is forced to make another trade soon.

Heh, they might have. I think they started their losing streak some time after they beat the wings in November. Somewhere around mid to late November their wheels just come off. They looked really rough tonight as well.


Edit: With any luck, the main board will be talking about the epic downfall of the New York Rangers next and I can start ignoring the Wings thread there. My curiosity always gets the better of me.

It really is mind blowing. They have so much young talent but I do think this is why you need some veteran leadership on young teams. Its why I am not horribly mad at Stevie for signing some of the vets he has. (I still blame him for the Lalonde mess and for not getting a top 4 dman this off season.) For all we know Buffalo has tried to do that but vets may simply not be interested in going there. As much as we joke about Detroit only being able to sign Detroit guys, at least we have that. Buffalo doesn't even have the luster of an Original Six team to lure some vets there. Just throwing young guys to the wolves unless you have a Crosby or McDavid level player seems to really extend your losing.
