I don't think it's going to hold, but I really hope I am wrong, I'd love to see him score at a 30 goal pace over the 2nd half.

BTW, I think I am going to amend my take a couple of weeks ago on Caufield maybe being one best vs. best away from being ready to make Team US (targeting 2026 Oympics), but based on how he's looked in the last month it seems that maybe the wrong decision was made. I know the knock is more of a catch and shoot guy, but he can skate pretty well too.

Suzuki as well seems like he should have been chosen for team Canada, he might be the most underrated player in the entire NHL.

 
The Caps have PLD at 1C right now too. I don’t know if it’s temporary because Strome cooled off but he looks like a different guy now. It’s pretty f***ing annoying.

Yeah I'm not sure what's worse

Carter's pouting "I never wanted to be here, f*** this"

or

PLD's "this is everything ive ever wanted now i'm never going to skate again" *trade due to suckage* "f*** LA, this is awesome"

with the added bonus of Gabe Vilardi being literally exactly what is needed in our lineup right now, a right shot lethal scorer who is great on the PP.

Edmonton's management continues to "name chase".

Imagine how much better that team would be right now with Broberg, Holloway and McLeod.

They sill might win the SC anyways despite so many poor management decisions.

I feel like Edmonton's playoff success is intrinsically tied to whether they have the "1st round bye" that is playing LA.

Last year they arguably don't get past Dallas if they are more beat up from a round 1 against anybody other than LA. Dallas seemed to just run out of steam in game 4 rather than Edmonton being the better team.

But your point about name chasing though is spot on!

Edmonton has caught Las Vegas for 1st with 61 points ( Edmonton has played 1 more game) 8-2 in last 10 and LV is 6-4 , If Edmonton can finish 1st , then a Edmonton vs LA first round match should not happen, (LA would have to fall to a WC but LA has a 6 point lead over the WC) so should we cheer Edmonton to win?
 
I dont get why EDM stands pat with Skinner as their #1. Colorado replaced both their #1 and #2 preparing for the post season. EDM total spend AAV on both goalies is 3mil... seems like an investment in goal would be worth for them. EKane is on LTIR.. they are the cap ceiling if you pencil him back in.

Carters situation was totally different and I understand his attitude. He and Richards both signed long term deals to play in Philly , only to be traded moments before the extension and NTC kicked in. Would you want to play at the ass end of the NHL after thinking you'd be a Flyer for life? :shakehead

The Vilardi part stings the most.🤢

I’ll never forgive Kurashev for taking that delay of game penalty that led to the Kings tying it late and passing the Knights in the standings in Game 82. We were less than two minutes away from the Oilers having to go to war with the fully healthy defending champs and instead they got an easy warmup round for the rest of their playoff run.

I’d have been very interested to see how that Stars-Oilers WCF would’ve played out if Dallas had been the one getting the 1st round bye instead of Edmonton.

If canucks are out by deadline I could see Lankinen being traded to the Oilers.
