Vancouver traded Bo Horvat to the Islanders for a first round pick and then later Vancouver flipped the first round pick to Detroit for Filip Hronek. Vancouver could be attempting to make a similar move with JT Miller. The Islanders signed Horvat to the 8 year deal for $68M contract. The acquiring team would need to have $8M in space without sending back a contract to Vancouver. The Islanders had the room for Horvat's $8.5M contract extension. Miller has a full NMC which make it a tough deal to make.

I kind of simply don't understand this. First off, if it's indeed true? OR, it's NOT but obviously in it for the money. I simply do not understand WHY he wouldn't be PUBLIC about CARING about this team, and doing whatever he can to make this Rangers team a Championship team from Top to Bottom. Maybe it's NOT his fault. What IS his fault is this conception (or mis-conception) by the fans that HE doesn't care. So, "IF" I am he, I would make a public statement that I DO care, and want his Rangers "investment" to be a winner. I mean, why would that hurt any? He would still be making his money, but could possibly flip around the fans view of him. Get a GM that cracks the whip, who in turn gets a coach to understand this and portrays the same. This team isn't good enough, and what has to be done to change that is much, much more drastic than upgrading a couple bodies on the roster.

This would be worth checking in about! I suspect Power wouldn't really be on the table for a reasonable offer, but Cozens' price might be an all time low.

15.45 mil for 2 players who have yet to live up to those contracts. That's a significant risk, especially given our track record. If Mika is going the other way as part of the deal, maybe, but I doubt he would waive for Buffalo.

What about a guy like Dman Connor Murphy ...listed as a R/L dman and a big guy . Son of former D coach Gord Murphy . 4.4 cap hit for one more season . I'm not up on his play as I never watch the Hawks . Would he be any good for us and what would we trade for him if he was . Get him....Fire Housley and rehire his dad Gord would be an improvement ....maybe ?

remember Byram has extensive concussion history early on
could be another Juulsen or Ekblad going forward, but risk is there...

there is a need to optimize ALL moves AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

there is no justification for selling KK short

IF you must deal KK -- and again there was no reason to, kid lines in various incarnations effective 5x5 -- then you do something like
KK + for Power +

and that's not a knock on borg-meister
he was a good/useful get, but currency paid was wrong

Jones is a tough one. The best chance for Jones and the Rangers is if a contending team’s puck moving defenseman goes down and they don’t have a replacement in their system.
Temporary stopgap while they’re waiting for their man to be back.
Wouldn’t expect more than a fourth with a conditional 3rd based on games played.

So f***ing what???? Do you want a list of high profile players that scored less in that minuscule season window??? Are going to explicitly say what you’re trying to imply now that Kakko is better than Lafreniere or better than those players too? I don’t get the purpose of this narrative (and yes that’s right - acquiring Kakko and him getting points hasn’t helped his new team - also in a small sample size)

I think all six will be moved with some of the picks acquired flipped for roster players. Don’t see much coming back for Jones or Vesey but the others will bring back some quality.

or
are a better strategic fit long term (Mancini over Jones)

the fun will be whatev picks they get are useful incl can be paired with higher pick(s) for still better pick
