The Devils are ruining another prospect by letting him develop while contributing in the NHL, and not making him pay dues at the AHL level. First it was Hirschier, and then it was the Hughes brothers, throw in Mercer and now they are up to it again with Seamus Casey.

Don't these guys know that only the McDavid's of the world don't need AHL time?

I've seen this guy play a million times, he's a nice player, will have a great career but he's no Brandt Clarke, but he sure is being developed better.

Sure he will, let's see if he plays when Pesce and Hughes are back though....nothing like ignoring context.

An assist by osmosis
-1
16% on faceoffs
failed backcheck on 2-on-1, put his head down and pumped his legs real fast to 'show effort'
with nearly 70% ozone starts and PP1 time

we're so back baby

Connor McMichael is a beauty though, should load him up with some empty calorie points

Seamus Casey is a good story, made the team as a 7th dman. With the injuries to two of their top dmen, he got to play. So where does he go when they return, the pressbox or the AHL?

If Skinner stinks, then the Oilers are screwed. The D is awful and been awful for years. It probably can't be fixed because of the amount of money Nurse is paid and Bouchard will be paid.

Kane is out also. He provides something Skinner, Arvidsson don't provide.

Well he has just struck again today, so if he keeps this up they may have some decisions to make.

Do you think, even with injuries that this organization would have given a 20 year-old rookie defenseman with 0 AHL games this kind of opportunity? Ofcourse not, they would have kept him in the minors and given the opportunity to someone like Englund or Burroughs until Casey had paid his dues and learned the system.

Casey handled by LA is signed after his freshman year, never has the dominant sophomore year he had last year, and is probably at best about half-way through his "dues paying" development with the Reign, which at the end of it would result in a player not as good as dynamic as the player the Devils are likely to get.
