Honestly when I saw that live I thought he was faking it given he popped back up to yap at the ref and played on (common occurrence)

Only on slow-mo replay can you see that it looks a bit like Doughty's board jam-up

Anyone who wants any athlete to get injured deserves to get injured themselves.
I mean corey perry is a prick whom i saw spear quick right in the nuts and was released from the chicago blackhawks for being a prick.
As much as i detest him, i figure karma will even out for him eventually

Give me your opinions.

Where would Michkov be playing right now if he had been drafted by the Kings?

A) NHL
B) AHL
C) KHL

KHL. No way would he have come to North America without the guarantee of an NHL role and facing the near certainty of 1-2 years in the Reign middle 6 and LA press box. He more likely than not would’ve requested a trade by now and would be getting the Faber treatment from the “He never would’ve played here anyway” crowd.

One was 22 and one was 19, but your response is to be expected, you continue to think LA's development decisions are normal compared to the rest of the NHL, despite a mountain of evidence that says otherwise.

I guess C.

They'd want him in the AHL, but he'd go to the KHL for more money.

This is my belief as well, I think the Kings would not have guaranteed a roster spot, and thus he would have stayed in the KHL until they did, or he was traded.

I actually think had the Kings even been in a position to draft him, he probably would not have been on their list due to the leverage of the KHL that he had.

yeah, at the interview kings would have been perturbed that he wouldn't want to play in the AHL for 3 years instead of the KHL, they would have skipped him and picked charlie stramel and moved him to wing

The Caps have been on fire so far, I think fingers will start pointing at him once they cool off unless he starts putting the puck in the net.

This is basically exactly how we started last year with PLD

we're winning so no one is REALLY complaining but

'the production isn't there but the advanced stats are, he's great at gaining the line and getting the pucks to the net and it's only a matter of time before he and laf and kaliyev go on a heater'

problem is he's getting paid like PLD when he's really just French Canadian Nick Bjugstad.

Yes, the Caps have been good early. Connor McMichael is developing into a solid player. Like his game a lot. It's obvious he's propping up PLD playing on the same line as him. :D

Dylan Strome has been good as well. Change of scenery can do wonders for a player. Definitely has a shot at being a 70+ point player this year.

Not sure on the extent of the Roy injury, but hopefully he can get back into the lineup soon.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happened on this forum with this player. And every time it happens it's a terrible look for this community.
Yea, let's please steer away from that attitude. I know we all "hate" the Oilers but cheering an injury ain't it.

They're still in the "He'll get there" phase much like I was last season.

He looks a little better than he did in LA, but still is far from how he looked when he was younger. Last year for the Kings it was just a bad fit all around, he didn't fit in with the teams style at all, the contract, the expectations etc, it caused what is probably going to be a somewhat steep decline to be an Enron stock arrow, he will level out but ya, just don't see it returning to what he was (and what Blake paid for)

That contract is going to be such a disaster though, it's another reason teams give the 8 year ones coming off ELC's and not after a bridge when they are 25-26, some guys just fall off huge in their mid 20's (Richards, Cheechoo), and if the eight year deal ends at 29 or 30 it's a lot better than 33 or 34.

Pld plays wing exclusively with the caps which allows his defensive responsibilitys to be alot less than at c. He will go the net but he continues fatally allergic to battling in the corners or stout physicality inclding fighting.
Ive never been a part of an nhl team, but being his size in the real world more is demanded of him on every level. In the real world quiet quitters like him are morale busters.
Impressionable kids see his play and work ethic and contract and think man once i get past entry level i can cruise through too.

I hear you, but I also wouldn't be sad if Anderson boarded him from behind and knocked him out for a few games before the playoffs. To be honest, though, I was more pissed about the lack of response from the Kings than the hit itself.

sorry to interrupt the McDavid candle light vigil but on a side note, who spread the Faber doesn’t want to be on the Kings rumor?
