I can't believe I picked the Rangers to win the cup. Vancouver as the other finalist is looking almost as bad. Shows how much I know about hockey.

I've always felt the most important positions in the game are 1G, 1D, and 1C. That cup contending teams are built from the net out. I'm starting to re-think that philosophy.

Not that I think the Leafs four forward experiment is gonna work either.

At this point I'm willing to say it comes down to who wants it more. With the degree of parity in the NHL so high the difference in skill between most playoffs teams is negligible. So really what it amounts to is testicular fortitude.

Rangers, Vancouver, and Toronto all lack testosterone producing glands.

I watched maybe 20 minutes over a couple periods and I'd pin 2 of the goals against directly to Nurse.
Of course Picard should get an assist on one of the goals against. Nice pass to the point. He did earn a giveaway on the play.

I felt uneasy about the deal at the time, I think we gave up on Sandin too easily. Drafted Cowan out of it though.

Yeah, he isn't a top pairing defender, but as we know in Toronto you don't have to be a top pairing defender to get playing time on the top pair.

Leafs aren't exactly rocking an elite level d-corps.

He’s 5th in ATOI for d-men on the team getting second unit PP time and less than a minute of PK time per game

Probably just being used to his strengths while minimizing his weaknesses which are still similar as to when he was in Toronto

There has to be a lot of concern about Canadian hockey. This group missed a few yrs of development, so it’s understandable, but they need to go back to playing tough.
