The Leafs have always had troubles with bottom feeders, most of us don't understand why you're so confident about them. But hey, keep those predictions coming, at least your posts are entertaining to read.
Has anyone checked the Leafs' record against non-playoff teams from November to April? I think most people remember losing to some of these teams in the middle of the usual slow October start, but I'd wager that the Leafs are pretty close to perfect against bad teams from November forward in each of the last few seasons.

In any event, this may be too little too late for Detroit. Eight points behind the last wildcard team with a lot of teams to jump over.

Always wonder if there is more to it when a team signs a pick early, and I don't mean their first / second rounders, I mean longer shots?
For sure. Remember David Broll?

I remember that guy.

Was hoping he'd be the next Belak. Never worked out that way though. They signed him to an ELC less than a month after drafting him in the sixth round for some reason.

I don't know the why but assume nepotism.

I think it came out, at least unofficially, that he or his family was having either some medical or financial issues and needed help. Might be misremembering though

This is quick ...

It didn’t take goalie Mackenzie Blackwood long to establish himself as the Colorado Avalanche’s starter for the present and future after signing a five-year $26.25 million contract extension on Friday.

The Avalanche announced the signing, and a person with direct knowledge of the contract confirmed its value to The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team did not reveal the monetary figure first reported by Sportsnet.ca.

You would think Colorado learned its lesson from its past goalie signings, but I guess not.
