Top 10 teams for GAA. I think those 3 are the biggest surprises to be there:

Was has surprised in every possible way this year.
I thought Keefe would be a runaway favourite for the Jack Adams this year. He had all things going for him heading into this season to do so.

But it looks like another former Leafs coach will be giving him a good run for his money. Carbery has been doing a masterful job with the Capitals, a team I thought was on an accelerated path downwards and were in line for a much-needed rebuild. How they are doing so well this deep into the season I am unsure of.

Give some credit to the GM who brought in PLD, Chychrun, Thompson, and Roy. Sometimes change is good.

Outsider here. Edmonton is ranked #1 in all situations for least HDC allowed/60. Better than the Sutter era cup Kings teams. What people see is some big brainfarts here and there like the Toronto game by Bouchard lol. He is making them more often this year.

Edmonton needs a goalie upgrade IMO, but the team seems content on pumping up Skinner. He is more of a "hit me" goalie. Not much athleticism. Skinner put up the lowest save % in playoff history in a series won.....He has played better, but it is mostly due to the team tightening up. It's amazing they made the the cup finals.

Dude has been on a heater and still not at 0.900.

Since November 23rd, Stuart Skinner has put up the following save percentages in his starts:

.941 vs NYR.
964 vs COL.
938 vs VGK
.935 vs STL
.955 vs TBL
.929 vs VGK
.786 vs FLA
.923 vs BOS
.952 vs OTT

Great post and I agree with you about Skinner.

We welcome outsiders like yourself who love to talk real hockey.

Devils also have set an NHL record allowing 20 or less shots in 7 straight games. Keefe's biggest positive is system structure but I don't think anyone expected this.
I've always been a proponent that Keefe wasn't the main problem, the main problem is spending more than 50% of your cap on four forwards, and worse, who all have similar play styles. Also, the whole team except like 2 players don't have that "dog" in them.

I am not surprised that Keefe is doing pretty good in NJ. Obviously we will see come playoffs.

Keefe was a trashy coach. Couldn't coach. Couldn't develop. Couldn't win
