Putting up similar numbers as Nylander for 35% less money. There is a reason why NYR soft tampered with BT.

This is a weird statement.

They paid him $8.205 mil for 7 years, after a career high of 45 points... which was his rookie year... he got 44 in his second year, and then 39 in 56 games in his third.

That's the nice thing about having players not break out, until after they've signed their contracts. If Brady keeps up this type of scoring, he'll absolutely get paid, in line with what other comparables do.

Major locker room Problems in Vancouver.

  1. Rumours of Canucks locker room being like a country club while Jim Benning is at the helm
  2. Rumour is basically confirmed after Benning is fired and Rutherford/Allvin put a heavy emphasis on improving the organization, putting in the work, etc.
  3. Miller has temper tantrums on the ice during the season under Bruce, Luke Schenn and Miller get into a screaming match on the ice during a losing streak which is broken up by Garland.
  4. Rumours emerge about a locker room rift between Horvat and JT Miller. The rumours go quiet after Horvat is traded.
  5. Reports of Miller getting on Petey in practice earlier this season trying to get Petey going, Miller then takes a leave of absence in November and there are rumours around the league that Petey and Miller are having issues.
  6. Petey has looked completely different since Miller returned to the line up and yesterday Petey was taken off PP1 and put onto PP2 fueling the previous rumours.
  7. Bruce Boudreau, the former Canucks head coach, made comments yesterday alluding to there having always been issues between the two.

So apparently Pettersson and Miller don't get along.... It's looking like Miller is going to end up getting traded... to where who knows... I mean odds are New York, or Buffalo... maybe Nashville is a potential destination as well.

Rangers have the cap space, and desire to get something done. Whether they want Miller back, I don't know.. there were always locker room questions there with Miller too.

Buffalo has the cap space, but don't they have an internal cap ceiling? They clearly have some pieces to get a trade done if they want.

Nashville needs a 1C. They only have $4 mil in cap space, but it wouldn't be hard to fit Miller in. Obviously with the Christmas freeze, no trades are getting done anytime soon, but I can't see Vancouver continuing the way they are.

That is a bizarre situation. Leads one to speculate that JT Miller is just a total headcase, which is unfortunate, because he's pretty good at hockey, whereas Pettersson seems to have consistency issues (at least on the offensive side of the puck). Something is rotten.

tbh if I was vancouver I'd shop Pettersson instead. He's is paid higher, produces less, and is a bigger headache. The potential for breaking out is scary, but his performance for most his career has been dissappointing, and his game was awful last playoffs too.

Miller to NYR makes a ton of sense. There's going to be a lot of different assets but I could see Miller and Zibanejad involved. I could also see Nashville going after Miller as well.

Didn't they just jettison a player partially because of locker-room conditions?

Miller seems to be in the center of these issues.

How about:
JT Miller and Bluegger
for
Lundel and Bennett

For a personal interaction like to see Tkachuk and Miller on the same team ...

This is a bit perplexing. I thought he'd do well in SJ. I think he's just too timid of a person and it comes out on the ice. It's surprising because he's actually quite stocky and could be a force if he had just a little more aggression in him.

The Sharks might be rotating players in like Timmins being scratched on the 15th.

Not reading too much into it.

JT Miller looks, acts, talks like a complete hothead nutjob. He's the kind of guy who rages and everyone has to remind him "this is coed floor hockey, relax." Except he's a head case at the pro level.
