Apparently, laughing at the Habs is against the forum rules.

Sorry, they just played a game in which the most shots they had in a period was FIVE (5,3,5 for 13 shots), and spent half the game in the box as idiots like super-D-man X there ran around cheap shotting... And they tossed a star to Cole Caufield for his one point performance? WTF?

As much as I like Bruins falling. Their team gave up 13 shots in the game and had 32 shots for.
They got goalies, lol

I remember when goaltending used to be their strength. Not that they would get outshot this badly, but if they did their goalie had a good chance of stealing it, or at least making it a close game.

felt like you could say that for the past 15 years, but maybe somethings changed in net for them...who knows

No chance he ever turns into a Jagr level player... I mean Jagr is one of the best to play in the NHL. But dude is a 6'3", 240 lb power forward, with some skills. He's on a team that absolutely sucks, and at 20, he's still got 11 points in 17 games. In a couple of years, he should be a force in the league, and I'd love to have him on the Leafs. The Habs appear to be bad enough again, that they should luck into another high end player. It might be a Hagens, Misa level C, and then they likely start to move forward in the standings.

It's just Tampa in our division now, who have played less games than us, and it's only one game. The other teams have done us the favour, of not closing the gap to us, while they play games. If we can somehow win both Florida games, it will put us in good shape. Tough with our current lineup, but they seem to continue to compete.

It's just Tampa in our division now, who have played less games than us, and it's only one game. The other teams have done us the favour, of not closing the gap to us, while they play games. I was actually being sarcastic. I know he won't be Jagr type, but the hype around him is something else. Like it is with every Habs prospects
His numbers look better than who he is. Kind of like it did with Domi and Galychyunk. Habs always tries to put their prospects in grade A situations to pump their numbers, a lot of PPs, 4 on 3, OT.

Reality is Slaf at best will be a secondary scorer, if he pans out. You just don't see the outburst in him. Even Marion Gaborik had a slow start in his first year, but you knew he was something special. Same with Hossa, I knew Hossa was goign to be a star the second shift in NHL.
You don't get the same sense with Slaf.

Just peeking at their post game, and looking at the stats from last night. Slaf had 11:29 of ice time in their ot loss, and zero icetime in the last 8 minutes of the game. That's their new 60 million dollar man.

If they manage to get a Misa, or a Hagens at the draft this year, Slaf would be a very good secondary support person for such a player. Or maybe the Habs just continue to spin their wheels, like Buffalo, Ottawa and the Wings have... It's great to rebuild, but it doesn't guarantee any success. The last time any of these four made the non-Covid playoffs, was 2017/18.

Hard Pass! if there are 2 teams I don't care to see in the playoffs it's Montral or Ottawa. We could be 50 points ahead in the standings yet there is some sort of voodoo sorcery with those 2. I'm thinking Harold Ballard must have done something years ago to cause this dark cloud....

It just so happens that 20-ish games played for every NHL team happens around U.S. Thanksgiving, which just so happens to be … about now.
The numbers bear this out. Last season, just three teams that were out of the playoffs on U.S. Thanksgiving got in: the N.Y. Islanders, the Nashville Predators, and the Edmonton Oilers.
Keep in mind how wild that is, given this includes teams that can be out by a piddly point with 60-plus games left in the season. The year before, just Florida, Minnesota, and again Edmonton, did it. Four teams got in the season before that, but I think you get the point — if you’re not at least close around now, things are looking pretty bleak.
