I feel sick when I see these Dubas waiver fodder pet projects go in the tank: Campbell and Kapanen. I just can't believe what we used to see. Both Kap and Campbell were key players for Kyle at one point. It's no wonder they can't get out of the 1st round.

Kap was never a key player. He was a young role guy. They moved on from him pretty quick.

To be fair,, in this case Kyle sold pretty high on Kapanen

What we used to see was a guy in Kapanen, who on a $863k contract, put up 44 points for us, and had a ton of speed. The following year he put up 37 points.... a solid contributor on the third line, who was then dumped and went downhill.

He was a great value player for us, and a good third line player.

He was a good pickup, and dumped at exactly the right time... all around good moves...

What's sad is people who are so clouded by Dubas anger, that they make statements like this.

I probably shouldn't be asking this but ... where do you see the Leafs finishing?
I actually don't think it will even matter this season. Whichever team finishes in second in the Atlantic is going to have a pretty easy match-up. The division is terrible this season. Toronto and Florida have basically already locked up first and second as between themselves.

His development stalled in Pittsburgh for whatever reason, and he's never been able to get back on track.

For years the Atlantic division was the most difficult in the league, and now it may be the worst division.

I’m honestly shocked.. he looked like a quality 20 goal, 40 point two way winger with his skill set primed for a long career

It’s crazy how he’s waiver fodder now because he always have the two way game and speed to be effective

Edmonton claimed Kapanen from waivers.

At this point, I'm pretty sure McDavid is Edmonton's GM and the only out of town games he watches are Leafs games:
