Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

I thought I would copy here some posts from Oilers PGT that I liked very much.

- I like you line up with Empty Net. I will go with him too.
- It’s all coaches fault as they failed in developing defensive system that allows our goalie to not move.
- and Oilers haiku:
Powerless Peepee
Swiss Cheese Skinner stops nothing
More braindead defence
That haiku is great. They have some good posters there but all the good Oilers posters stay on the team boards because the main boards ones are totally insufferable.

I don't know if Barkov is fine. He got rocked pretty good. As for Tkachuk, maybe they are working him in slowly, but I think it's more likely that he simply wanted to be back in the lineup even though he is still injured. Ths is the same guy who played with a broken sternum.
Yeah that's probably it, and that's not good for them. They lost the cup cause they were broken.

So long as Chucky is scoring goals like some sorta ghost of Ovi with a broken leg, he's still a problem though.

He's always been underrated imo.

Stats people hate him but he's been a minute eater in rough situations for years.

Blues got themselves a distressed Cam Fowler like the Bruins did with Hampus Lindholm a couple of years ago.
Doug Armstrong is what people thought Ken Holland was. Incredible hockey mind and after so many thought he was washed he pulled some rabbits out of his hat and rejuvenated his team this year, so impressive.

Was amusing watching the advanced stats junkies come out and immediately discredit Lindholm, saying he's "washed" or whatever narratives they cooked up. I'm sure Cam Fowler had a very similar picture. They were even saying we got a superior D in Giordano at that trade deadline.

You never, ever make full judgments on a D on a bad team.

Hell, even Benoit was a dumpster dive pickup from Anaheim - ended up being one of Tre's best moves so far.

My vibe on Tampa was waaaaayyyyy off for my hockey pool

Thankfully LA and Washington are doing well. Plus Kaprizov is giving me bonus points
Yep -- thanks for knocking me out of the single-elimination pool, Lightning. You're supposed to not suck at home!
