Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

The most knowledgeable, enthusiastic and sophisticated fanbase in hockey are simultaneously planning the parade and ready to slit their wrists on missing the playoffs

They’re going to need that high emotional intelligence in the crowd to deal with a potential meltdown tonight!

For all the people who anointed Helly the Vezina 3 months ago and maybe the Hart now. He now no longer leads the NHL in

Games played, goals against average, save percentage.

It's just wins and shutouts which are team stats

I don't think Stolarz played enough to be considered but now I think it might be Vasi.

Thompson was going to steal some votes but he struggled coming home.

Not sure really who wins it now

I mean, when it comes to goalies with enough games to be in the running, he still has the lead in save percentage and is tied for the lead in goals against average. More importantly, he leads the league in goals saved above expected, with a nice ~30% lead on 2nd. Helly should win.

Stolarz moved into 4th with his shutout last night though, which is really impressive. Just not enough games.

Would be funny if the Habs lose tonight and the Columbus wins in OT tomorrow, and the Habs make it in the worst way possible.

I would imagine diaper sales are through the roof in Montreal today. Even more tomorrow if they lose tonight.

Here's a big shout out to Carolina and Columbus. I've never cheered for these teams. Make us proud.
