Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

It looks like the winner of the Atlantic Division might face Ottawa in the first round of the playoffs. After tonight’s games, The Senators with 81 points have 6 more points than the current 2nd wild card team, the 75-point Habs. And they also have 7 more points than both the 74-point Rangers and Islanders, 8 points than the 73-point Blue Jackets, and 9 more points than the 72-point Red Wings.

The bruins are for all intents and purposes out of the playoff race and are basically eliminated.

Anyway, it’s better for the Maple Leafs to face the Sens, than the panthers or the bolts right off the bat . The first round matchup will be easier at least.

I will be surprised. Florida is well rested and Utah is on a back to back.

Not to mention that you are wildly inaccurate believing Florida is just playong out the stretch.
It's a combination of playing out the stretch and dealing with some major absences. Their last two wins have been beating Columbus and Pittsburgh in overtime. They are struggling.

Don't follow hockey like I used to but a name on the Sharks caught my eye - Mukhammadullin. Probably spelled it wrong. Seems like he has solid top 4 d potential. Nice to see the game of hockey growing. Previously I think Naz was the only publicly Muslim player in the league
