Not sure if this is accurate, but the Leafs better take advantage if it is
They have absolutely not "smoked" a lot of good teams. Go look at their game log this season. What they have done is smoked a lot of really bad teams. This is not really true except for the Leafs have had their way.
They have smoked a lot of good teams this year and are just like the Leafs.
Win a few in a row. Lose a few.
Pretty much like every team in the league outside Win and Was so far.
The leafs have the easiest schedule in the league to finish the season. If accurate this is the like us having the hardest schedule lol

I would definitely be giving guys like Tanev, OEL and Tavares days off the rest of the way.So they should load manage the top players on return.
Play better when short staffed.

Tampa is the only team Im confident we can bothTampa is creeping up, only 2 points back of Toronto![]()
Nah, the results don't actually support that. I get the narrative about the Leafs losing to bad teams, but it's not correct. They beat crappy teams because it requires maybe 8 minutes of work on their part to do it. I wish they had a more difficult schedule to finish the season. They play their worst hockey when that is the case

That's a good question.Does that factor in travel though?
Lots of road trips including two out west.
XGA% I find does not tell the whole story but I find it interesting that 30% of this list are either Leafs or ex Leafs

Though it's really been Benoit who has been the problem this year... as much as he was good last year.Timmins is only 26.
He's cheap, that's what counts.

Benoit is sitting at 41.2% Expected Goals, Timmins is at 49.6%... ya, just one fancy stat and all. On the other hand, Benoit is one of the best D on the team, at 2.1 GA/60.... Only Tanev is better.I don't watch as many Leafs games anymore.
I watch as many NHL games, but chose other games over the Leafs now.
I just see so many mistakes Timmins makes but really it isn't like they have one of the better groups of defensemen, but for the most part they are NHL players.
Drop off from Tanev is dramatic, but they have to play them. Heck they had to give Tanev a contract he is unlikely to fulfill.
ES TOI/g
Rielly
McCabe
Ekman-Larsson
Tanev
Myers
Timmins
Benoit

Benoit, much like Holl before him... was very good, with a good teammate in McCabe. He needs a stabilizer, and Timmins isn't that.
We could use a top 4 RHD, to move OEL or McCabe down to the bottom pair with Timmins... they have been decent together.
OEL and Tanev together have been VERY good. 14 goals for, 3 against. McCabe does work well with Benoit and Timmins. Get Rielly someone to play with, who suits his style, and the D core suddenly looks pretty good.
Reportedly a Groin Injury, that isn't very good. I guess we shall see.I suspect that Matthew Tkachuk will be out for a long while for the Panthers.
