Florida and Tampa pretty much guaranteed at this point to meet in the first round again. I might actually pick Tampa to win this time.

Nathan Mac is killing Edmonton so far in the first period. 2.03 pts per game in his last 64 home games.
They mentioned in the game last night about playing the Avs tonight.

Analysts did not expect a good outcome on a back-to-back against a rested Avs team.

And currently Oilers outshooting them 16-8.

On a back-to-back.

Bouchard shows what a point shot is used for.
Bouchard can pick his spot, not just blast Phaneuf style.
And they beat them in Colorado on the back half of the two games. That’s very hard to do.

Stu Skinner stood tall at the end. what a finish
Oilers flubbed a couple clearing attempts, including McDavid.

Previous night they were talking about how few empty net goals they have scored, compared to some other teams.
Oilers have 6 empty net goals, Avs have 18. Oilers are 4th. best team, points percentage, Avs 11th. Most of the better teams have more empty net goals.

Logan Thompson has been a huge surprise so far this season:

Who knew that goals and points that clinch games when the opposing team has an extra skater and typically far more possession are bad things?
You mean the goals and points that are massively easier to score, are more representative of opportunity, and generally have less impact on the outcome of a game?

Bad thing? No. As much of a good thing as other points? No.
