Ohhhh he’s 100% going to be back for the playoffs. Everybody knows that. This is Tampa/Vegas Kuch/Stone all over again.
Wouldn't say 100% but I would think the expectation is he'll be back by the playoffs.

That would truly suck. I'm not sure who I'd rather have win, but no 3 point night please. Can't they both just lose in regulation? Should be a good game though.

How many games does Florida have left? I bet that is the exact number of games he is out.

NHL needs to get rid of this loophole, like players who spent time on LTIR during the season can't play round 1. Or some kind of ratio..... For every 20 games you miss on LTIR that equals 1 round.

So Kutch wouldn't be eligible at all a few years ago

They can trade their 2025 if the condition is its top ten but it would slide to 2027
They can not trade their 2026 as it will go to the Flames or Chicago.
They can trade their 2027 with the same condition as the deal with Chicago (if the have it)
Realistically no team is trading for their 2025 as its almost impossible for it to be top ten and it will slide to 2027.
Calgary will get the 2025
Chicago will get the 2026
The can trade the 2027 with condition they still have it.

While cap space is not likely to be a problem for general manager Bill Zito, assets may be as he looks to load up. The Panthers are without a pick in the first three rounds of this year's draft and have only a second-rounder in the first three rounds in 2026, unless they elect to move their first-rounder to a team and kick their 2027 top pick to Chicago.

With the acquisition of Jones the Panthers are undeniably a better team today than they were yesterday.

You can argue if Florida paid a fair price. You can argue if Jones contract is any good. What is undeniable truth is that Jones will improve Florida's chances at winning another cup more than Knight and the 1st ever will.

Treliving better get off his butt and do something.

If I was Matthews seeing this unfold I wouldn't be happy. The objective is to win this year... THIS year. Hoarding futures and prospects does nothing to help win a cup now.

Management is clearly incompetent.

They tell us they're all in, that they're doing everything they can to win a cup, then sit on their hands while their competition improve. Not doing anything is a show of non-confidence in the players. Another slap in the face to an increasingly impatient fan base who were promised a Stanley Cup.

We want it all and we want it now... right now.
Treliving is putting the onus on the core to get it done and rightfully so, outside of a few minor upgrades I wouldn't expect much.

He might as well sell, than stand pat.

If he can get anything for some of their depth players he should.

There are seldom compliments to their bottom 6, so there should be a consistency in that opinion.

Can't claim he sucks, and then claim he can't be dealt.

Pit can retain 50%.

Karlsson for 5 mil for 2+ years would have value.
Even at that number, the amount that he would have to be sheltered because of his defensive miscues mitigates against taking him on, despite his offense.
