By all accounts, the Coyotes and the Proposition proponents utterly and completely screwed the pooch (pun intended) with the messaging on 301,302 and 303. This was a phenomenal deal to put a state-of-the-art sports facility on a current landfill funded by the owners and through a limited sales tax on local (as in Tempe) retail and food/beverage sales.

And they effed it up. .

If you lived in Tempe, would you trust the owner to make good on his promises to finance the whole thing?

After all the articles about staff not being paid, vendors not being paid, the city of Glendale unilaterally breaking the lease, etc.?

You would trust this guy with your city and not to ask for more public dollars to help with the development costs, roads, etc.?

But I was told the players loved the college stadium atmosphere and the ice was second to none?

Don't understand why Keller is so mad. Currently it's a joke franchise with about half of the player payroll given to insurance-covered LTIR contracts. If a pro athlete is serious about winning, why wouldn't you root for the franchise to have better ownership and move somewhere where revenue means team can actually invest in making itself better?

I think it's the fact that the league and the Coyotes have both said they are playing in 23-24 at Mullett Arena regardless. The Coyotes have said they are still committed to staying. Bettman has not yet given up on this thing. It has been the hill he has spent decades defending. I don't think he believes it's over yet.

I'd imagine that's why Keller's pissed. There's no clarity except for the fact that for next year, and for god knows how many more, his team will continue to be a laughingstock, playing in a 5,000-seat college arena.

Oh, I think Keller was one of the few players to directly react to the referenda not passing, and he seemed upset about it. But if his dad's post is about playing as a lame duck team in Mullet again, then, yeah, I understand that.

Who’s this coach Bri1? Maybe Clayton should learn choose himself like a big boy.

Did you hear that the owner wants to sell? It's not because they move the team that they change ownership. Chances are he wants to keep the team.

I imagine if certain terms of the ownership contract aren’t met (ie an NHL caliber arena to play in) the NHL can force a sale of the team.

A hockey player dad called Brian on twitter telling the world what his son is going to do with his badly run team?

lol @ Keller's dad who says that his Twitter was hacked. Yeah right, the hacker waited until just after the announcement, wrote this well-written message and then the dad, who somehow could still access his account, quickly deleted it?

I understand that it's a tough situation but straight out lying like this looks very bad. Hacking is the new "the dog ate my homework". You expect that excuse from a 1st grader.

Both Dubas and Keefe (who I expect to be canned now) have had their issues, but overall I think both of them did a good job at Toronto. And both are super young in their respective positions. They should have new jobs soon and plenty of career left.

I don't at all. I think Dubas corned himself with his stupid 'we can and we will' comment. Basically forced himself to keep four overpaid forwards (his making) and not trading one to balance his team out properly.

Basically he chose pride of making correct decisions. His star players let him down in the postseason for sure, but the defensive groups he put together were obviously not going to win anything.

He traded Kadri to balance it out which I appreciate

I for one, still suspect that Shanahan might have had something to say about that and especially signing Tavares.

But Dubas learned on the job. If you look at his tenure, most of his issues/mistakes came early on. I think especially looking at the last two years, he has done a good job (apart from Murray, even that didn't cost them the playoffs).
