Hockey can be the cruelest of sports. Other than the Oilers last night this has been the most dominant game of the playoffs by any team by Dallas and yet its 2-2 headed into third.

Dallas executed 3 breakaways on one Vegas PP. Dallas have 6-7 breakaways in the game. Zero goals from it. At 2-0 Dallas were just beating Knights head in but Carrier and the f***ers decided to get the masterstroke to create a melee purposeful to get matching penalties and 4 on 4 which of course favors Vegas who also have the Ozone draw. They score immediately, game changed.

Thomson makes more stupendous stops and makes a ridiculous stop on DAllas on PP, not only the stop but he kicks the puck out with force and creates a Vegas shorth handed 2 on 1 and of course Eichel scores.

Dallas problem in this series is they have no superstars, their only elite player is Heiskanen. Dallas have a lot of good players but not the confident scorers that Vegas has.

You can't play better than Dallas has in this game. But Dallas finish has been abysmal in this game, and in this series. its just killing them. They generate so much, they are not finishing.

Dallas had 30 shots in the 30min mark of the game. SOG were 30-10.

Nothing about Thompson's performance so far has to do with a system breeding predictability lmao. Vegas has given up more incredible chances against in 30 minutes than the Oilers have in 3 games.

We haven't gotten a goaltending performance in the playoffs like this since we had Dwayne Roloson in net. And a quick Vegas PP goal and all of a sudden they're back in the game despite having been absolutely horrendous for 30 minutes.

That said Dallas have possibly the best transition game on the planet when they are flying. A lot of these breakaways have been brilliantly exeuted and with lightning speed. Where Dallas fail is in the non premium finish. There are often times where Seguin looks like he won't score a goal in 20 games. Of course its again that time. He's had 4 fantastic scoring chances and two clean breakways with time. Blew both of them. On one a stupid pad stuff after deking 3X. On another a not great shot into blocker.

Thomson has been good. But Dallas very guilty of not picking corners and not putting pucks in hard to stop places. Lots of low shots into pad. Its maddening the lack of finish.

Both Vegas goals top corner. Something Dallas doesn't seem able to to if they get 100 shots.

Pavelski, just f***ng retire. At fault for the vegas goal and he's botching every play in series. Just awful, and Pavelski in recent years has had a habit of that.

Dallas should put out a missing person report on Benn and Robertson.

I don't watch much Dallas and heard Pavelski, thinking I was hearing things for a couple seconds. For sum reason I thought he was retired lol.

Can't help but laugh at the Leafs. They're paying 40 million for 4 forwards while desperately needing a much better defense and goaltending, and Trevling's first year on the job was nearly as bad as his last year on the job in Calgary. Klingberg brought in on defense, Edmundson their prized deadline acquisition, 37 year old Ryan Reeves given a three year contract for 1.3 mill per year, Samsanov given another kick at the bucket - just amazingly bad. Leafs badly need a new coach too, watch Trev bring in Dallas Eakins as a replacement

Still funny to me that Leaf fans were roasting the Oilers a few years ago that you can't win in the league paying so much to so few players, but they'll be dropping 47 mill on 4 players when Mathews/Nylander's contracts kick in next year.
