It will be one of the very rare times I'll be watching a game without the Oilers in it.

Does he pull a Matthews and score 4 in his opening night since teams aren't used to his shot yet?
I love Bedard and I’ve been waiting years to see him play in the NHL.

I actually think he might not blow the doors off immediately. Watching him in preseason against some NHLers he seemed to struggle a little bit. He’s trying to do everything with his hands, you can’t deke a whole team out if you don’t have the speed to separate.

Halls an underrated playmaker though, if he can set up Bedard that shot is ridiculous and will beat goalies clean more often than not.

When the Hawks improve it’ll unleash Bedard. Until then he needs to use his head more than he showed in preseason. More head, less hands

Bedard was very ineffective at first but had some solid flurries there in the 2nd half of that period.

Also Karlsson looks really good walking that line. If it could have been done, that would have been a hell of an add for us.

The league promoted Bedard more this past week than they did McDavid in total in the last 8 years. Wish the kid went to Winnipeg or somewhere like that, so that I could actually cheer for him, and the league would have left him in anonymity like they did McDavid.

Man Bedard looks small. He’s like Pat Kane small.

Definitely getting bodied, will be interesting to see how he handles that aspect because his skating isn’t as good as Kane.

Ya that’s the NHL. The sooner that Bettman is gone the better.

It feels like every NHL game has 2 coach's challenges.

Hockey is now an American sport. Could you imagine if Connor McDavid was drafted by the New York Rangers?

Bedard doesnt have that speed through the neutral zone that McDavid has but he takes a ton of shots
No doubt he scores 40 goals like Matthews did in his rookie season if he keeps shooting
Still looks small out there

Hot take: Bedard won’t score more than 25 this year.

I think his skating will hold him back.
I’m a negative Nancy myself, I know it’s his first game but he doesn’t look that dangerous to me. It’s going to get pretty old watching him take 10 shots a game from everywhere with nothing to show for it.

He’s small and average skating right now, they are also looking for him every moment. I think he gets close to 30 and around 70 pts.

Bedard will be interesting how he does 5 on 5 over the course of the year.

I have no doubt that he has the potential to score a ton of pp goals. But unfortunately for him, hes got no one to get him the puck.
