Happy to see AJ Greer have a strong performance, I liked him a good bit. He deserves a solid chance somewhere. We just had too many younger wingers that deserved looks.

Oh please. @Bleedred constantly defends the NJ goalies in those game day posts of his….Don’t worry about Blackwood he’ll bounce back…guys with that AHL background always tourn out just fine….Bernier is going to do great this year. Goalies in their mid 30s can easily overcome some minor setback like his hip exploding…..and on and on….who can forget him trying to rally support for a Schneider extension just before the team bought him out? He never has a critical word to say about a NJ goalie. Somehow I think he’s bottling up his true feelings.

I actually did not remember the DDevilsswede post haha, but I do remember the actual DD propping up MacDonald and how it was terrible that he wasn’t signed to an NHL deal by Shero and we just let him walk to Florida. I think he was the first poster upset about it.
And I was gonna say “Did Jacob MacDonald really log big minutes in Florida? When?” And I see the post was from September, which is clearly preseason.

I was at the Leafs-Habs game tonight and I couldn't even tell if Slaf was playing. And the Leafs had two forwards playing defense.

I’ll have you know MacDonald played in four, that’s right, FOUR Panthers preseason games.
Now two were off-site (Tulsa, OK vs Dallas & Orlando, GL vs Tampa) and they don’t have full player stats so we’ll never know the BDE JMacD was swinging in those. OTHER THAN AN OT GOAL IN TULSA, HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES SIR.

The short recap doesn’t bother to even mention why two Florida defensemen played 1-2 minutes. Not going to lie, that annoyed me, now I’ll never know why it happened.
I will add that I like depth FA signing so I get liking picking up guys like MacDonald.
That said, JMacD played the two first two games with the Panthers that season (10:28 & 13:38), making his NHL debut at 25.
He was then replaced in the line-up by Bogdan Kiselevich, who was a 28 year old FA signing out of the KHL. Bogdan ended up playing 32 games in his one NHL season (14:51 ATOI) for Florida. They traded him to Winnipeg at the 2019 TDL for a 2021 7th (#210) but the Jets never played him. (I’m including this to dispute the “they’re loaded” at least in the short term.)

Greer was a UFA, so not a prospect, and he could easily see having more opportunity at wing there this season. He got a 2 year, 1 way deal, so Boston clearly had to outbid some teams.
Plus Greer played at Boston University and they Bruins often have a leg up on local NCAA products.

I’m actually not in Fort Myers, that’s about 150 miles from me. It may be a little bit closer than that in actual land miles and not road miles.
I actually did alright. It’s still a bit gusty out there and I got a pretty good amount of rain here. It was supposed to be quite a bit worse for me. I did lose power, but I have a generator which was finally put to good use and definitely worth the money I had spent on it years ago. I knew when I moved here that it would be a smart buy and something I would eventually need one day.
Power is back on though, but it’s flickered a few times over the hours since it came back on. It’s all ready to go back on as soon as I potentially lose power again.
It is a nasty storm, I’m still getting a ton of nasty gusts as I type this and hearing all kinds of shit outside. It was worse earlier though. The rain looks to be over for me, but it feels like I’ll be getting wind and gusts probably well after the sun comes up.
Hoping to see an update from @Ripshot 43 soon.
