Good point - some of these drafts are incredibly difficult to figure out in terms of what players will be stars. Boldy would definitely be a guy (along with Seider and Zegras) that would be top-5 if that draft has a do-over.

Even though Turcotte is a complete question mark at this point, we still landed Bjornfot and Kaliyev...not to mention Fagemo and Spence. Turcotte was just one of those 200-ft guys with leadership qualities that many teams covet.

Completely agree - excessively dangerous and unnecessary. 5 games minimum to me also. I don't understand that decision.

They haven't scored a goal in the third period yet in any of their games. Things are pretty bad in San Jose right now. Might be time to seriously start considering not just retooling but rebuilding as well.

Only problem with them being this bad is they're one of the top contenders for Bedard. Imagine Bedard, Eichel, and McDavid in our division.

Retool? Is that what they actually thought they were going to do? They need to go scorched earth at the trade deadline. If I'm not mistaken, they have a few nice prospects to begin the rebuild with. Might as well just embrace it.

Just like the Kings, the Sharks can't easily rebuild. Those contracts aren't any more tradeable than what the Kings had. They moved him, but got nothing for Burns.

The Sharks, like the Kings, aren't/weren't in the Hawks current boat where Kane and Toews have no more years left at 33 or 34 years old.

I remember when Granato slashed a Blackhawks player in the head. He was suspended 15 games IIRC.

Kuznetsov's slash wasn't as bad, but on a relative basis, he probably should have been suspended at least 5 games.

Anything involving the face/head, when there's clearly intent, the NHL should hand out pretty harsh penalties IMO. I even thought Nurse's headbutt on Danault in the playoffs last year should have got a much more severe suspension.
