Good. f*** them.

Their media reporter Russo is such a homer. Guy was crying for nearly a month because Murray’s net came off a few times over a few games.

He had a whole article on it and said he’s talked to league officials about him and that they’re keeping a close eye on it lol.
Legit? If so that's funny. A guy is that worried about our 3rd string goalie who is injured half the time lol.

Rent free. I mean that's a hilarious hill to die on.

Can the Leafs for once just handle business and win for f***s sake. This year is wide f***ing open.

Rantanen is criminally underrated? Mack has better tools and I would rank him higher, but he never was really great to Rant came along.

Drai gets no love as well. He has already proven what he can do without McDavid and it just doesn't seem to matter.

Not enough talent on the Wild, and hard to say when they'll take the next step as they enter cap hell

Stars will probably get Pavelski back for game 1 and they have to be considered favourites regardless of the opponent. Yeah, I know the Avs if they make it, but I think Stars are deeper at the moment and have the goalie advantage for sure

1.) you don’t know that his wife or anyone was secretly in seattle or his room.
We do know that somebody was there, super drunk, and none of what was reported to happen or the aftermath would really make sense if it was just his wife.
Either way, far from just "life on the road".

Not the same player, but Drai' situation kinda reminds me of Malkin, almost underrated and when they turn it on, pretty much the best player in the world.

Don’t know if the Hurricanes are better than I thought or the Islanders are worse than I believed. Either way, that Horvat trade and contract is not looking that great at the moment.
As we all know, Lou don't rebuild.

I wonder if that will bite the Islanders in the ass in the future. By that, I mean it will definitely bite them in the aas in the future. That's a shame lmao.

Isles, similar to the Jets, were frauds being carried by elite goaltending lol
Having elite goaltending carry a team doesn't make them a fraud, it makes them vulnerable. A team's goalie is a member of the assembled team. Just imagine for a moment what things might have been like with the Leafs of the past 7 seasons if they had an elite goalie for even part of that time. So many team failings would have been spackled over, so many playoff series may have been won.

Islanders were the better team at 5-on-5. Their downfall was that their PP was an absolute joke. 30th in the NHL in the regular season and then had 1 PPG in like 15 opportunities in the playoffs... And they gave up a SH goal so technically their PP had a 0 net percentage. I think the one goal came from the 2nd unit too, while the GA was against their top unit. So their top unit had a negative net PP% in that series.

Dobson has a big shot but was way too inconsistent moving the puck (similar with Pulock). Swedish Sebastian Aho was by far the most effective and he has even more of a muffin shot than Rielly... So for all of those who say we should replace Rielly with a big shot on the PP, it is an absolutely terrible idea unless you find one of those rare Makar-esque unicorns who can do both.

Absolutely no movement anywhere or anyone who really knew how to take a clean shot. Plenty of puck watching. Plenty of standing around. And Carolina has a very aggressive PK so that is the absolute worst thing you can do.

Adding Horvat did help their PP for all of like 7 games (it was clicking at 31.6% in those games) until Barzal was hurt for the regular season. So they did recognize that they needed some help and Horvat was a good option for that. After Barzal's injury, they had a 7% PP for the rest of the regular season and followed it up with a 6% PP in the playoffs (with Barzal in the lineup).

But it was a problem all year, then they added help, and it continued to be a problem. IDK if they change their coach or what but something needs to change and they don't have a ton of cap flexibility to change their personnel. Anders Lee especially looks like it is going to be a tough pill to swallow for the next 3 years... Guy can't skate anymore.

I wonder how they'd feel about Boston having a player remove the net when it was empty and Florida was threatening to score. No articles?

It's one thing to be actually good in front of elite goaltending (Tampa), but you likely won't get very far if the goaltending is masking several warts, like 5 on 5 play and special teams (Winnipeg and NYI).

Yes, Leafs played well in front of their goalies, so an elite one would have pushed them over the hump

Can't speak for the Jets, because I didn't watch their playoff games, but Carolina is a really good 5-on-5 team and the Islanders were actually a fair bit better than Carolina at 5-on-5 in that series... Which is the opposite of what you would expect from the regular season. Now they were missing Svechnikov for the entire series and Teravainen/Drury for most of it but other than Aho, Carolina had practically nothing going at ES.

Islanders' woes start and end with their PP. Not that other things didn't need to be better if they expected to win, but they could have easily made the conference finals again if their PP was even just mediocre.
