You didn't watch the Blues game where he let in 1? He is not living up to what I thought so far, but he has made some big saves in tie games to help secure a win or keep them in it. Carolina for example. Blues he played well. Vancouver first game he shut the door. The GAA needs to come down. I think Skinner is going to be a very good goalie. First goal today was atrocious I don't even know what JC was doing. Just freeze it after it goes off of Ceci's skate. I don't blame him for the 2 re-directs, but he should save one of them to make a big save.
He's not a quality starting goalie and you guys are already finding that out within the first month of a 5 year contract. Make all the excuses you want, it's not gunna help him post better numbers. Enjoy.

He's slowly coming up on a full calendar year of a sub .900sv%

I refuse to believe in the demise of the Bruins ever again. It's just not going to happen. Bergeron retires? Please, they'll pull another Selke level centre out of their ass and keep chugging along.
The Bruins will take a huge loss without Bergeron, he’s jus that good but they survive because they have an identity. It can still compete.

We are dysfunctional with the 4 signed. Take 1 away and we are still dysfunctional.

Or they’ll use their scouts and either draft or trade for #1 C. It’s like they have a plan.

That's what a well run organization looks like.

The entire team is on below market contracts.

The funny thing is that they are actually really soft, they play more like how I envision Dubas would like our team to play. We just don't have the horses or the tenacity.

You don't need to draft well all your lives. If you draft 2 or 3 key players, they can give you 10 years of good service

For some reason players goes into Boston and buys into their culture. Even Hall who has a decent contract, they trade for Lindholm who has been great, get him to a good contract

They have had their share of mistakes with drafting and trading players. But they kept their core at their core. Everyone else is dispensable

2nd. round pick.

A huge homerun!

We can dream Minten is the Leafs' version until he isn't.

They have a head hunter on D that started practicing with their team this week. Not the best player in the world, but he has heart and desire that make him a stud.

Lauko is a forward.

I think we are also overestimating how "menacing" some of these defenseman are... nevermind how guys like Niemelainen wouldn't even be good enough to crack our defense right now.

If we wanted crappy menacing defensemen, then Ben Harpur was available for a while until the Rangers signed him.

Yeah power is a big boy but not that menacing. Dahlin is more menacing than him.
I consider him menacing in the same way Sergachev is - not mean, but will light someone up if the opportunity presents itself. Capable, I guess is the better word for it.

If capable is the definition, then most of our defensemen are capable.

Even Rielly will get into a fight if he needs to. Did it once already this year.

Weird choice of "rivals" and players to demonstrate "menacing".

I mean sure, we don't have enough physicality on our D, but I'm not sure this helps the argument.

True, Rielly is a lot like those other guys  I guess we can play the semantics game.

I think at best, you could say the Leafs need one guy since Muzzin is not there now.

But I mean if we are judging this based on hits, which is not always the best indicator, then we have 2 of the top 50 defensemen in the league right now... and that is without Muzzin or Liljegren (who had over a hit per game last year).
