Watched most of the Oilers game but had a conference call early today so I went to bed at 3-1 thinking the Oilers had it in the bag.

Kudos to LA for climbing back late in the game and taking it in OT

I think they probably get absolutely rocked next game. It’s a shame that Fiala and Vilardi are both out, though

Oilers will still take the series in 6 at most I think

Oilers were red hot heading into the playoffs but blowing Game 1 might be enough of a shock that they stumble throughout and lose the series. Waste to get 3 goals on a stingy Kings team who’s playing without Fiala and Vilardi.

It was fun to see someone else suffer for a night but a lot of things had to compound in that game for the Kings to win. If I was a betting lad I would still put my money on the Oil.

Gotta think if the Panthers had any hope of winning the series they needed game 1. Bergeron out, multiple players dealing with the flu. Sweep looks likely now
I thought the shot clock made it look much better than it actually was for Florida. All their zone time and shots were to the outside. Ullmark made maybe a couple good saves. And Boston did not look like themselves at all. I also think that series is done and dusted.

Same to my eye. Ullmark made the necessary and expected saves but if anything I thought he actually looked a bit slow and shaky at times (probably from the illness they're fighting). This leans even more heavily to the fact that he wasn't truly tested a great deal despite the shot totals.

God I love playoff hockey so much

Yep it's like its an entirely different game compared to the regular season.

Intensity and physicality get extremely ramped up and it becomes a battle where you accumulate small mental wins during 2 weeks of playing the same team possibly 7 times.

Playoff hockey is the best sporting event to watch imo.

I don't think there is a single player in the entire league it is more enjoyable to see lose then Draisaitl. He like instantly transforms into a whiney little bitch.

Drysettle does have that pouty look down to a science, doesn't he?

Im interested to see if anything comes of the Dumba hit.

Seems like a lot of similarities between the Hyman on McAvoy suspension. Initiated after the pucks gone, unsuspecting player (albeit hit in their chest), late, high, but not directly in the head.

I'd love to know the time difference in the two

League has already said there will be no suspension I believe.

Which is the right call.

Usually I'm of the mind that the leagues punishments for stuff like headshots aren't enough. But in this particular case it was a clean hit (just half a second late) - players shouldn't be punished for a guy falling to the ice at an unlucky angle.

I do not think Pav was expecting it, especially in the area it occurred. It is the playoffs, he should know better.
