I could argue many ways that the Avs and Leafs are very close. This is just one.

Btw - the Avs have been one of the biggest playoffs flops of this era.

Yep you ain't paranoid - like you just said, the league does in fact change how it refs games based on what the Leafs say and do.
There is no doubt Avs and Leafs are very close. The diff is really one team figured out how to close out a series while another don't. There is no denying that talentwise, both Leafs and Avs are on the same tier.

If Avs is considered to be one of the biggest playoffs flops of this era, then what do we call our Leafs, where they can't even pass the 1st rounds in the past 6 years and our top guys seems pull a disappearing act when it is an elimination game, I guess playoffs chokes should cover it.

If they three peat I don't think any fan will care too much if the run is over. Heck I'm sure some are happy with the 2.

Meh can’t speak to Tampa. But most fans are pretty fair weather.

The pens had Lemieux. Jagr. Francis. Cups and they were almost moved 10 years later.

The avs have been beating up on first round fodder for years now. They have had a lot of luck on their side.

Even the worst opponents Toronto has faced have been very strong defensively.

The difference is largely that Colorado plays in the West, and got to face far weaker teams without their #1 goalies, while constantly being gifted more PPs than their opponents.

Past 3 playoffs, net PPs

Toronto: -1
Colorado: +38

Did Mack ever disappeared in playoffs?
One goal combined for both MM and AM against the Habs.
Getting shut out by BJs in Game 4 and 5 if it not for the 6 mins miracle.

We can sit here and say, Avs had it easier….how often do the current Leafs lose to bottom feeders or back up goalies in the league over the past three seasons.

The boys still could not get it done nomatter who the opponents were.

Lastly, the goal is not to win a round but to win THE CUP, and it starts with getting 4wins then another 4 and another 4 and another 4.

The only constant over the last several years is how Colorado always gets a large benefit in PP vs PK opportunities… in both the regular season and playoffs.

Remarkable.

That shouldn’t be offside because his body broke the plane. Who cares about the feet?

The guy that a Leafs player had lined up for a blind side hit in game one and elected to fly by, scores and assist on two goals in game 6 of the eastern final. Fitting.
